The advertisers that have left 105.3....were ALL mid-day spots.

It may be obvious that this is my first time posting anything to this site...so please bear with me. I am not a part of the radio world. I am merely a fan. First off I USED to listen to 105.3 from the sunrise to sunset. I caught on to the Pugs and Kelly thing WAY before people began to show "concern". I have always enjoyed Russ Martin and am still bewildered with the whole assault charge. I just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Dukes Original Roadhouse(Oh yeah...the wings baby) pulled themselves from 105.3 WAY before Russ and his alleged assault took place. In fact...I heard a commercial on KISS saying they were "taking over Dukes" every Thursday night. And IF you were(are) a listener of 105.3 then you already know Thursday has ALWAYS been a promotional night for numerous station events. This was roughly a week into the P&K fiasco...ya know...when they were still "on vacation". I do not think Russ Martin has ever had anything to do with Dukes. And Renaissance Laser was also a mid-day advertiser. Whatever is going on with the advertisers has(had) a lot to do with Pugs and Kellys departure. OH...and HMS...also a P&K daily live spot. It seems obvious to me that Pugs and Kelly advertisers are the ones abandoning ship.

On a side note I do like BDH...just not so much on middays. And I am not a Russ Martin defender. I can tolerate Jagger...only because of Dean. I guess my question is if anyone else noticed this??? :-\
 
It's hard not to notice that the sponsors are gone. P & K ran SO many commercials most days. BDH just seems to be talking to himself for hours on end now.

I stopped listening to RMS a long time ago - it just seemed to be the same show every day. Maybe someday we'll get to hear what P & K's reaction to his being arrested was - that would be great radio for me!
 
I never remember hearing a Renaissance spot on RMS. If his demo is men, why would Renaissance book spots on a male dominated show??

Dear Tifchase, as a proRuss person, you have showed your intelligence or lack of...but try reading this again. I DID NOT say Renaissance was a Russ sponsor...they use to advertise on 105.3 website but pulled it after Russ beat Amy.

Is it at all possible for someone to disagree with you without being called stupid? I was strictly commenting on the fact that I don't see why there would be any connection between the show and that company. I really do appreciate you commenting on my low intelligence. I've made another sweet, open minded friend. Oh joy!!
 
If you are going to comment on something I wrote...then comment on what I wrote, don't change it so it might make some sense in your mind.
Geez, if you can read a short sentence correctly, I understand how that long warrant with big words would be too hard for you to read the whole thing.
 
I've noticed an RMS sponsor has left 105.3 D&M Leasing always ran a heavy schedule and they are completely gone. Perhaps they feared backlash fom the alledged felony charges pending against Russ. Never good for business.
 
Clearview you do have a point there. You're right. It has been awhile since I've heard a D&M spot. Thanks for pointing it out respectfully. :D
 
I've always joked that 105.3 has been a 70/30 mix of ads and programming. Since I have been out of pocket due to my honeymoon, I can only imagine the panic they're experiencing off of john carpenter these days. KLLI will survive in one form or another. Jagger and BDH will have to keep that ship afloat for the time being. I have a gut feeling RMS and his followers will be w/o a show for the forseeable future. I'm also curious what will happen with gavin, as he is the one responsible for the station side of the mess.....
 
Well, this morning I've heard a BDH spot about an upcoming appearance at Dukes & a D&M commercial.

So much for the speculation about advertisers leaving...

Listened to the NASCAR race yesterday and haven't been back on since.

Odds that Russ will be back today?

That doesn't mean anything. It's whether you hear those spots during Russ' airslot that means something.

Is there anyone who knows anything about the future of the RMS show, the Pugs & Kelly show and Live 105.3 as an FM talk station? Any insiders want to "anonymously" respond? I mean, SOMEONE who reads these message boards must know something and can reply anonymously. Am I the only one growing weary of the speculation and misinformation? (I know, I know- I'm in the wrong place for accurate info...)

So it's OK if the ground-rules shift as we play? Don't know if that was sarcasm or not, but does Russ doing the read on a pre-recorded (D&M) spot count?

No rules have changed. The emphasis has been on advertisers bailing out on the Russ Martin show. It's blacklisting a host, which is quite common.
