The allure of the Ghettoplex

What is it with this building that makes it so attractive to radio stations? Granted it made sense to move the CC stations that were on Eastern Avenue there so all would be in the same location, but WCTK is there also.
Is it the rent?
Is it the layout?
Is it the rent?
Is it accessibility & parking?
Is it the rent?
Is it the size?
Let's not discuss the neighborhood.

On 2 related notes
(1) How come WCTK doesn't get billboard space on the roof?
(2) Does anyone know which area station has been in the same building the longest? Would it be WSAR, WARV, or one of the Woonsocket stations?

Who owns CTK?

Also, I think the first floor on the builing is some sort of a factory floor or something, from what I remember.

Who is that guy that used to be on B101 that's on the RI Wrestling repeats on Cox 3?

I wouldn't feel very safe doing the graveyard shift there or being the morning folks that have to walk through that parking lot in the weee hours. That's a scary neighborhood.

CTK is owned by Hall Communications.

Maybe it's the rent

The Wrestler who you are asking about is Alfredo 'Danger Boy' Travesio. I apologize if I got the spelling of his last name wrong. He was part of B101 when it was Morning Sunshine with Daria Bruno/Tiffany Hill. After Paul Perry left.

Maybe WCTK would rather spend their money on other interests than on the roof.

Believe it or not I don't even know where WNRI & WOON are. WARV is in a building that once was a private residence so I don't know if they've been in that location the longest. Maybe WSAR but also how about WRIB? Another station whose location I'm not familiar with.

I live just up the street from WARV and they've been there since at least the late 60s, perhaps longer.

WNRI is, IIRC, on Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket.

I belive that Lite 105 Used to be in that building ages ago as well.

Out of the current stations, CTK has been there the longest.

I believe the billboards on the roof was some kind of deal dating back to when it was B101 and WRX.

I think the attractions must the be the great view of the highway.

Kind of a psychological boost especially if you're doing drive time
