The Angry Old Man's Station

JoJo Kincaid asked a caller to name his favorite station and said to the caller something like "don't say WFLA, the angry old man's station". I am getting to like Q105 more and more ::)

Bet you saw "Gran Torino". actually, it was a rather moving movie. There is nothing wrong per se about angry old men. I am getting to like you. Now if only I could find WFLA I'd listen to you. Is it at 540 in Orlando?

But who are the "stupid" people. I love 60's music and Q105 is my favorite station in Tampa Bay. Is that "stupid" ? Maybe I'll catch you at the WMNF Woodstock Revival Concert on 8/15/09 at Skippers. Let me know what color T-shirt you will be wearing so we can talk 'radio".

You gotta be around my age . What did you like growing up? John R? Cousin Brucie? Jeff Christie? Wolfman Jack?

Don't take it personally. I think he may have been referencing people like those involved in that recent incident in Cambridge, Mass.

Not that you asked me, but I'm here, so I'll mention growing up in the northeast listening to Brucie, Scott Muni, Dick Biondi and Joey Reynolds. A few years later I was lucky enough to hear John R from Nashville and da Wolfman on a Mexican station with call letters that started with an X. He was always hawking something and giving a PO Box mailing address in Del Rio, Texas.

Angry Old Men (or "AOM").....hmmmm.....is this the new format name for what was once called "Hot Talk"?.......

I loved John R. As for the Wolfman, never heard him until I drove west. I had no clue that he was Jewish guy named Bob. (I'm Jewish)

Angry old men (with guns) will save America from those acting "stupidly"!

Angry old men with guns will shoot hemselves in the face like the irrelevant idiots they are. WFLA (We're Fools, Liars & A**holes) doesn't get demos below 50. You have no future. It is the radio equivalent of the grandfather on the Simpsons. How that station has so sadly fallen. It is no longer a preset on my dial and I am a 44 year old male. I really miss Dick Norman, Bobby Lassiter, David Fowler, Lionel... Now, they just espouse the Mays family credo and call it "Conservative Talk" while GWB was a big government guy and none of the hosts said a damn word about it until he was gone. Yeccch.

On a positive note, I think this is the best Q105 has sounded, ever. Very muck like L.A's KRTH. I love it.
