"The Answer" moves from 1590 to 1300 AM

KARR 1460 has been broadcasting from a horizontal long wire atop an electronics supply store on an STA. It can be heard clearly in his city of license. The station is simulcast (for now, I guess) on an FM translator.

What's that station doing now? Last I heard it had gone dark when Westwood1 shut down their news service. I'll be up that way this weekend, but not sure I'll have the opportunity to DX from anywhere within range of the 98.5 translator.

The 98.5 translator is currently rebroadcasting KMIA.

Last I heard KARR, they were broadcasting a 10-minute loop of IP-delivered Fox News, Focus On the Family, some PSA's, and a text-to-speech feature called a carcast (probably KARR-cast).

Before that, it was dead air with TheBlaze Radio Network news at the top of the hour (perhaps I caught them on a bad day?).

The 98.5 translator was dead for well over a year.

I just tuned into the 98.5 FM translator. Sounds like Spanish language religion, "Radio Amor". Perhaps they bought KARR, to get the translator.

I just answered my own question, thanks.

Is KARR owned right now by James Dalke (affiliated with Family Radio)? As far as a format, several sources have it as Oldies since 2015??? I'm wondering if it's currently silent.

James was the contract engineer, i do believe.. the longwire was on the roof of an electronics store that he owned.

Seattle-Tacoma has been Market #11 for about a year. There's a big woops.

From my understanding, 1590 isn't expanded band (as indicated in the article), which starts above 1600.... The journo who wrote this must have been in a hurry.

I would wager that if 1680 goes Punjabi, 1560 will go off the air. Unless they find a way to broker it.
1560 is running different programming now. They are not simulcasting 1250 anymore.

The FM translator got sold and is now simulcasting 1210 Radio Amor on the Capitol Hill site.
