The App. Has Been Filed

For my new LPFM radio station.

Now working on getting it established and on the air.

If you want to help make this new broadcast a reality, contact me off site.

A donation of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Have a nice day.

Easy there big fellow! Take it from someone that's been there. It's a little early for fundraising. You gotta get that CP first. The FCC is first going to toss out all the defective applications, then build the singleton and mutually exclusive lists. If you are lucky enough to be a singleton, you MIGHT see the CP in mid-2014. Get a website that tells all about your dream radio station and what you want to do with it (WIX.com is free) . Build a rudimentary studio. Consider starting a streaming station to test/practice with and to learn HOW to program your station. You are competing with not only other radio stations, but TV, internet, satellite, DVD, iPods, and CDs. Also, to be real here, you will most likely get a lot of promises, but very little action in the beginning. Now is the time to be meeting with movers and shakers in your community; shake a lot of hands; kiss a lot of babies. Talk to the people that you will need their support to survive. It's not going to be easy. You know Dan, all things are possible with GOD and I wish you the best. Contact me anytime if you need advice or council. I'll help if I can.

Happy to announce that I'm already spreading the word about this new radio station, through word of mouth. I've also created some catchy ads too. Passing them out all over the place. Have some of the building money raised already. I'm going to eventually set up a web site and stream for the radio station. This is something I believe in. I want to see this through, to the finish line. Yes I know that the modern technology will be beneficial, if I utilize it. Not going to be left behind. Plan on using those new gadgets and resources to help advance my new presentation. Want to have success once I sign on.

Concerning my content, I'm already committed to doing a full time Contemporary Christian musical format for my hometown. Since we don't already have something like that here, it makes perfect sense for me to do it. Country and Urban are all over the place. We don't need any new stations like that.

To make this long story short, we have around 20 radio stations that do some form of an Urban program here, during an average week. We have at least 6 country stations that cover Selma real well. Our Christian radio sector consists of Moody Radio, AFR and WLBF Montgomery. They tend to talk more and play little to no music. I want to flip that and do more music with less talk. Christian pop is very popular, from my research. I want to bring this exciting and popular style to our local radio dial. Hence the reason why I wanted to pursue this LPFM radio station.

I still believe a Christian pop based radio station will be a potential goldmine, in an underformatted city like mine.

P.S. One other thing I needed to say. My hometown needs this radio station for the following reason. I want to help revive this city and bring it back from the dead. When a community is experiencing crime, drug, violence and job loss issues, then it's time to bring a much needed jolt to the local radio dial. I want to use this new LPFM radio station to help put a dent in those issues I spoke of.

Very cool. Keep the faith, and you will succeed. Start shopping Ebay for your equipment, and get your tower location, and installers lined up once you are issued your CP (don't know if the LPFMS have a 3 year buildout?). Start putting you budget together, and calculate your expenses, and be part of your community. CCM should work well for you.

The original CP gives you 18 months to build the station.

To musiconradio.com, already have my antenna site taken care of. Know where I'm going to locate it but for now I'm going to keep that location on the hush hush.

As of this post, I'm now raising money, so I can buy the items I'll need for the building side of things.

Once I get the permit, then I'll be able to reveal the finalized tech specs for this station. Can't get into all the details just yet.

Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

P.S. All I can say about my antenna location is this, I'm already loving that spot. It's in a place that will cover the areas I want to reach with this new radio broadcast.

Do be aware that when the FCC releases the LPFM applications into the CDBS database (which I believe will happen tomorrow or early next week) your proposed transmitter site and the rest of the technical specifications will become a public record.

Not that I imagine anyone besides a radio engineer (and you!) will care:)

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Look forward to checking out my own specs and the ones Mr. Alan McCall will have.

You are not alone Dan. Saving my techie details for the end of the app window at 5 pm today but hopefully we will be building together. Difference between you and me is my business has been quite successful and I've paid to have my app done. I'm sitting about 3.5k deep thus far...

I have mentally blocked myself from doing anything else until I know if I'll get a CP or not.

Very anxious to see the list of applications.

Well sir, I had help getting mine done too.

Thanks to the fine folks over at Sterling Communications in Ringgold Georgia.

They've been a big help to me.
