It was slightly over six years ago, at one of these stooop-pid, free to the client, mini-remotes, where the Announcer is there & gone, before all the car salemen can fill-up on free pizza, and free can drinks.
So,...as I tooled down the highway, I was quickly overcome by the Pizza Whore deep inside. I didn't get past the first piece before Mr. Moose-hair recognized me, and began spouting Programming poop.
He turned out to be the new OM/PD for a local AC format. "There's just no new Pop material out there!". That statement is OK, unless it's me that you're attempting to make a believer of. Lord, help him to repent, in the midst of the ass whippin', that he is about to receive!
After I got through paintbrushing him, he had a different attitude, and I had two pizzas, three drinks, and a certificate to some new Chinese Wok-&-Go. It's ashame that he didn't listen, and went on as he had planned. Several months later, he was ankled, with the station sighting...incompetence! The truth is...don't listen to what the labels have to say. They only want you to grant airplay to whatever they are pushing. In this day, and time, alot of artists have formed their own labels, and are making all the money. 2003 brought us "Do It For Love" by Hall & Oates...possibly one of the best Pop albums ever. They released it on their on label; Watch Out records. Both HEART & STEVE MILLER have release two albums in the last 3-years.
"Fly From Here", last year's studio effort from YES maybe Rock Album of the year! Both JOURNEY & FOREIGNER have released two pieces of product with their new frontmen; Arnell Pinetta, and Kelly Hansen, respectively. CHEAP TRICK, with "The Latest" in '08, and their dead-on Live cover of the entire Sgt. Pepper album in '09.
It might be a bit of research, but the Harvest is Available!

Is it just me, or do all of Scooter's thread headings sound like paperback novels in the bargain bin at Barnes & Nobles?
;)

i was mis led because i thought he would talk about the group king harvest. after reading the fragmented sentences i thought there might have been a drug store break in or alzheimers setting in. i wonder what mr moose hair would call scooter?

I agree. I was mis led too. I thought me were going to talk about harvest fall.

Well,...now that we've waited the alotted time, and have heard from all the Goobers of the Peanut Gallery,...ONWARD>>>>>
As I was stating, in the beginning Post, Today, recording artists are finishing up their contracts with the major labels, and founding their own. Some are even purchasing the rights to their catalog material.
I'm not a Country fan, but I admire Toby Keith. No one...not one,...in the record buisness tells him what to do! The same goes for Gene & Paul of KISS. The labels still have alot of artists, but not all of them; like it was in the 80's. Smart Programmers are going to have to read, and conduct product research, in order to stay current. It's shameful when both Journey & Foreigner have released perfect AC foirmat ballads,...get no airplay,...while worthless Country-crossover crap gets spin after spin. Released in June, "Fly From Here" by YES, was listed by many Rock publications as The Rock Album of The Year, yet no airplay here in the GSP, unless you subscribe to_______________!
