The Axe Doth Fall At FedMed...

The hot topic on Facebook from different sources says that Federated has let a lot of staff go in Fort Wayne and South Bend.
I'm not totally sure on who, and I'm not going to tell who I DO know or tell where I got this from, but I would think that this is old news to some by now.
I would guess that some who have been let go will be on here later with more but this is as far as I will go with it.
Just passing on the word.

Caught wind of this Friday... announced today. 14 people all together, including GM Mark DePrez, who had something like 18 years with Fed. Midday guy Zack Skyler let go at WMEE. Woody Zimmerman takes over as Warsaw GM and Clint Marsh goes back to Planet Radio and takes over as GM there.

Is there actually any point to most of these house clearings, or do these conglomerates just like to get rid of anybody with a little tenure?

Anybody think they're prepping the payroll to put the group up for sale??
It was suggested on Facebook...

Maybe, or they are going to see how much they can "cut" and not affect profits negativity. One of the major "C" operators usually has a "Nov. or Dec." downsizing at least every other year. "Merry Christmas!"

Steve Brelsford is in my opinion the biggest axe to fall. 35 years with the company and one of the best production directors I've seen in my 20+ years in the business.

I worked afternoons at K105 for 5 years and Brels was the best. Brels gave his soul to that place.

It just goes to show that nobody is safe.

I wonder if he was close to being fully "vested" retirement wise if they have one? If so they might have opened up themselves to a age discrimination lawsuit.

Brels is to young for retirement.

I did not mean retire, but assuming he started @ age 18 + 35 = 52+ (most likely). Retirement should be within 15 years. It would be nice to have some kind of extra income (from 35 years of service from any employer) when he does retire, not just Social Security. Anther problem he has after Cobra runs out he will have some mighty health insurance costs.

Whoever said old news is right. FedMed dumps people on the first sign of financial instability... employee counts go down faster than panties on prom night.

That being said, I'm very shocked they would bust up the one entity that had to be making some big bucks for them...
