The backlash against ABC has begun

And the backlash against ABC for canceling All My Children has begun. ABC Family (along with The 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family) put a posting about "The Chew" on ABC on their Facebook Pages and the comments are filled with people who are angry with the cancellation of All My Children saying things like they're gonna boycott the network, the hosts of "The Chew" should choke, the network doesn't care about its viewers, etc, etc.

Also worth noting a bunch of whiny teenage girls are spamming the ABC Family Facebook page demanding they put back on some dopey show called "The Nine Lives of Chloe King".

I still haven't forgiven ABC for "Perfect Strangers."

Wait, I should rephrase that:

I still haven't forgiven ABC for greenlighting "Perfect Strangers."

::)

And speaking of Perfect Strangers...did I ever tell you about the time Mark Linn-Baker came into the Wall-to-Wall Sound & Video Store in the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall where I was working to buy a Sony Walkman from one of my co-workers?

I liked that show a lot. And Bronson Pinchot was nominated for an Emmy.

People talk about how bad "Three's Company" was but John Ritter won an Emmy.

And don't forget: no "Perfect Strangers", no Urkel. One of the greatest TV nerds ever.

Well it's not like ABC didn't warn people. Afterall people had the better part of the year to launch a "Save AMC" campaign of some sort. But since no such campaign was launched, I'm with the network on this one

Cheers & 73 :)

However, like many sitcoms from the '80s, "Perfect Strangers" hasn't aged well. Remember when ION aired the reruns for a brief time in 2007?

The Backlash continues. This time on the Facebook page of Paula "The Queen of Butter" Dean. She was promoting the fact that she's today's guest on The Chew.

There is a girl on the daily TMZ show that literally goes into meltdown when the subject of the cancellation is raised.

I always thought people should attach themselves to other people and not TV characters.

Oh my, a few angry soap fans griping because they can't face the reality of it being 2011. Oh my, what a backlash indeed. I'm sure ABC is quaking.

The main thing is that we have known about the cancellation months beforehand. Hoover vaccums even invited viewers to call and complain when they pulled their ads from ABC as a result of the cancellation news. Yet there has not been any uproar until now.

Where were these fans when they needed them most? You take action right away, not when the threat already happened.

Bunch of fat and lazy housewives who sit on the couch eating bon-bons crying during Erica Kane's 29th wedding.

I hope you caught "Erica Kane's" interview on last week's CBS Sunday Morning. I've never watched the soap but found Susan Lucci very interesting and down to earth.

Wait REM broke up the same week when All My Children ended. I'm a fan of REM should I tell them not to break up. Absoluteley not because I knew that REM had to break up at some point. I knew it was time for them to move on with their lives.

There is nothing worse than that feigned south'n belle chaaahm, y'oll. I can't stand her!

I'm probably one of the few people here who are liking The Chew so far (since I happen to work in the foodservice industry). I managed to watch the premiere episode online and from the looks of it...not as bad as it seemed.

But like I said, it's shows like these that are cheaper to produce than soaps (and even in HD).

What is interesting that the telenovelas on the Hispanic TV networks are going on just as strong as they always have.

LOL - they tickle me. In the middle of a variety show, if they introduce a new artist that sounds good, off come the shoes, out of the way the coffee table gets dumped, and away they go with the latest dance. I don't watch much Univision, but they do tickle me.
