The Band Camino- One Last Cigarette

I have heard this on ALT Nation a lot over the past few weeks. It sounds like it could be a big crossover pop hit similar to “Shut Up and Dance with Me,” but do songs like this just fizzle out these days because it is too pop for alternative and not rhythmic enough for CHR?
 
I don't think this one is gonna fizzle out - it debuted at #30 on the Billboard chart and more importantly, the radio conglomerate that pushed them to that peak (Entercom) is keeping them around on the Alt Select playlist (which is 11 hours of syndicated programming that mirrors head station WNYL). So this is going to do something on Alternative, but whether it can cross over to CHR is another story. One I am not sure Elektra is contemplating yet.
 
I doubt this will go anywhere as far as crossover appeal, but it could do well at Alt. It’s better than most of the currents nowadays, IMO.
