The Beat SA

Wow...No all mix weekend. How weak? Now this market sounds like Austin. No mixshows-Boring.

I guess, when you cut mixers from your staff your force to run a regular playlist.

And please, don't reply if you're out of the target demos cause you wouldn't understand.

:-X

The Box even didn't do any mixshows, they use to, pretty sad.

Would you want any mix show on your station when your competitor is called "MIX?"

You're showing your age. Most stations have names for their mixshow such as, July 4th Weekend @ The Beat-SA Red, White and BOOM!!!

I'm pretty sure The Beat's got DJ's. The question is, why didn't they do an all mix weekend this year?

They've done it for as long as I remember. I guess The Beat's going wack.

The beat is much like the party...

Yawn....

Yeah, they're run by the same guys. Why don't they drop The Party and just focus on making The Beat better?

Why have two top40 channels in the same city?

What I meant was, why do they have The Party, if The Beat is number one? Are they like trying to make The Beat fail by having The Party? The Beat is sounding more like The Party every day, and they're both CHR.

KASE was solid #1 in Austin as a country station when the owners decided to bring their country sister KVET-AM to the FM audience. The GM's thinking was, someone is going to go after KASE... It might as well be us. I believe there's similar thinking going on at Univision Radio.

Yeah, but there's already two people going after 98.5, KXXM and KTFM.

You missed my point. Univision hopes to grow Party into being its main competitor. While unlikely with its present signal, any CHR ears Party gets will hurt the other CHRs in the market.

You forget we have Hypersonic Radio every Saturday night on 101X which is All Dance, real dance not pop remix. Now I agree there is no all weekend holiday mix show which would be fun.

Oh I get it now.

I really doubt this'll happen, but if Univision does get Party to hurt the other CHRs and make the others go down, will they swap Party's signal with another station's and add some good DJ's?
