ATOM SMASHER AND MARIA TODD DEPART 104 KRBE
New morning show debuts on July 24th

Patrick Fant, Market Manager for Cumulus Media Partners announced today that Atom Smasher and Maria Todd had completed their last day of service as hosts of the morning show on 104 KRBE.

“We are grateful to Atom and Maria for their years of service, “said Fant. “I am confident that they will both continue to enjoy great success in their broadcast careers.”

Fant revealed that a new morning show would greet KRBE listeners on the morning of Monday, July 24th.

“We are taking steps to ensure KRBE’s continued market dominance, in pursuit of an audience that will reflect the vibrant personality of our city while serving the needs of our advertisers,” said Fant. “Our decision is based on research and a review of evolving market conditions and we are confident that our new, world class morning show lineup will take the station to even greater heights while engaging an even bigger audience.”

Fant advises listeners to watch the station’s Web site for clues as to the identity of the new morning show personalities and encourages those interested to send comments and suggestions to [email protected].

Actually, the beginning of the end was when Sam left. That followed by them being bought by one of the worst companies in broadcasting. How much of a genius does Sam Malone look like now? Got out before it turned ugly. Now, the big question is what one of Cumulus cheap syndicated shows will end up in mornings at KRBE?

I would like to know what they are doing, are they planing to switch formats? if so I have me a Sirius reciever ready to be activated, I'm thinking about it, I dont know yet what to do yet. If they do flip than that my make me change my mind to get Sirius!

I have tried to respect Fant and Cumulus for the mess they have put together on 97.5 and 103.7.
Fant was to be admired in KLOL's glory days (pre CC).

Now, I just hope he [**EDIT] that he's throwing KRBE in.

Taking the station in a more adult contemporary direction might be a clever directional move. After all, KRBE played all of the "MIX-ish" songs they're playing now before.

But killing off a listenable morning show, particularly a good one??

Atom and Maria are levels better than Roula and Ryan. The supporting cast was far better, too.

I'm pissed the ------ off right now! Way to kill a great [***EDIT] station Cumulus. Burn in hell.

Won't ever happen. Good guess, but no way. Cumulus will not pay another company for a morning show. It'll be one that's on a Cumulus station somewhere. One that they own and can put on their stations while not having to foot the extra expense.

Hey Steve, yeah... Reno was cut as well. I specifically looked at that since he used to be the PD of a station that I currently work at... (yeah, the one that was in the cluster that you used to work at.)

Clear Channel, CBS and Cox are licking their chops as we speak. KRBE's long held audience is officially up for grabs. Nice move Cumulus. I think I'll short some of your stock today. It's amazing how blatenly shortsided and financially numb some companies can be today.
