The Big DM

Here is what R&R Online is reporting:

Inner City urban AC WWDM (the Big DM 101 FM)/Columbia, S.C., PD/midday personality Mike Love is no longer with the station. Chris Connors, PD of urban sister station WHXT (Hot 103)Columbia S.C., will now handle the programming for both stations.

Prior to Love’s departure, he split middays with Lisa Mitchell. Now that he’s gone, Mitchell will handle the latter part of the shift that Love previously hosted.

Un-freakin'-believable! They have ratings most stations would kill for and they don't even see the value in keeping their PD. Not to beat a dead horse, but what does THAT say about the state of the industry?

From RROnline:

Former WWDM (the Big DM 101 FM)/Columbia, S.C., PD/midday personality Mike Love has resurfaced as director of programming and distribution for "The Michael Baisden Show" and will be based in Dallas. He exited the Inner City urban AC station earlier this month as a result of budget cuts and brings more than 30 years of radio experience into this newly created position with Baisden's ABC Radio Networks-syndicated afternoon program.

I don't guess you need a PD in order to air the non-stop commercial sweeps the Big DM specalizes in. DM's fall over the past several years has been shameful, yet their rating just keep going up. They've got to be making a ton of money.
