"The Big Lie"

"The Big Lie"

"Since the digital broadcasts are only transmitted at a fraction of the power level of the station's analog broadcast, the coverage area (or "footprint") of the digital broadcast is a good deal smaller."

The author even referred to David Down's East Bay Express article ! :D

The only "big lie" is that this blogger has no credentials whatsoever to be making such assertions, but one whopper of an agenda (just like someone else we know from this board...). He's a self-admitted fan of satellite radio. He has no background in broadcast engineering. He has no idea why the IBOC carriers are transmitted at 1% of the analog power.

Cliff's Notes: An utterly worthless link...again...

When I can get clear FM stereo reception in analog, I can get HD reception with no problems. In my experiences, the reception ranges for FM stereo and HD are pretty much the same. 8)
