The Big talker next?

With 106.7 gone, would The big talker be next? It'd be good if they simulcasted 92.5 and have a city grade oldies station again.

But Oldies don't pay the bills anymore for a full-market signal. Why do you think 103.5 dumped that format?

92.5 needs to become Digital again. Oldies can go to the AM.

No offense to the dusties, but I don't see an oldies format being that successful in Austin.

maybe 107.7 can go digital, we are missing several formats like oldies, classic rock then when more station come on they can go for the younger demos.

That is a good point. Why are the Austin Radio signals so low? Stations like 104.9, 92.5, 98.9 and 107.7? I can barely get these when I am driving 40 miles from downtown!

I honestly have no idea. But just a question for everyone in Austin, do you guys get 106.7?

I could be wrong but I believe there's a low power station that plays Christian Rock/Pop on 106.7 in Austin.

O ok thanks. Just wondering. But the poster right before me said that it's only in a certain part of Austin that you get that low power station another poster mentioned. But J/W, do you get the 106.7 San Antonio gets in central Austin or is it just static?

KXPW is licensed to Georgetown and puts out all of 12 watts according to the FCC FM query. It barely makes it to the northern fringes of Round rock according to the coverage map. I recall they got popped by the FCC for running commercials on a non-comm.

And to answer the earlier question... NO... SA's 106.7 does not make it into Austin.

104.9 and 92.5 are class A stations...small coverage area.
98.9 is located northwest (620-2222 area) on a relatively short tower.
107.7 is a Georgetown rim-shot station located far north of downtown.

I live in the northern part of Lockhart, I can receive 106.7 pretty good car and home with a good antenna.

I can pick up SA's 106.7 on William Cannon, which is on the southside of Austin. There is some static, but not enough to give me a headache.
