The BL Show featuring Brenda Lee, Shayna Lance, and Bill Freitas

I know a lot of my friends have been dissatisfied with the State of A.M. Radio in Tampa Bay for the last couple of years. The cure may be here.

The BL Show is on WTAN-AM 1340 featuring Tampa radio veteran Brenda Lee of Ron and Ron, Hooters On The Radio, and The Sports Chix fame. She has assembled her all-star lineup that includes the hilarious Bill Freitas of ESPN and CBS Radio, and Creative Loafing. Last but not least is the lovely and talented Shayna Lance, from The Mark Larsen Show and most recently The Big Show. I know many listeners were disgusted after her unceremonious firing from that station.

Be sure to check them out weekdays from 2-3 p.m. on WTAN-AM 1340, or watch their live feed at http://www.tantalk1340.com/index.cfm?PID=1 .

How many times are you going to run the same commercial?

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

lol @ badjef. Disco is right though, all the good stuff happening in Tampa radio is happening at WTAN. All of the great local talent that has been unceremoniously ditched elsewhere has found a welcome home at WTAN recently...

The Overnight Underground (formerly on WMNF), Prescription Addiction Radio (formerly on WGUL), Al Keck, BL Show (with Shayna and Bill of course), Radio Rejects... the list goes on. Even the engineers up there are top shelf... I hate to sound like I'm shilling, but all my favorite shows are on WTAN now, They've even got Imus and Alex Jones... If they fix their signals, I'll never touch my dial again ;)

@Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta! The average person has too see something 7 times before they remember it. So for you, I may have to run this commercial 13, possibly 14 times! I have not yet begun to defile myself. ;)

@Cedric-Thanks for having my back! There are many people who would agree with you and me. Just Google some of the talent who were "released" and see the backlash from their listening audience.

I think that is evident by the recent demise of a certain AM radio morning show.

Not to steal anyone's thunder but I think there's a new guy doing sports for the Radio Rejects.... ;)

Yeah, you did the first time.

This is a "discussion" board, not the classifieds.

You can have all of your retired, rehired, restored, rehabilitated, and any other R word news, sports, talk, and entertainment show that has landed on WTAN. For me, the stations #1 show is "Foxxxxy Forum" (I hope I got the right number of X's) ;D Dave- need a free board op on Friday nights? Cedric- you need a free helper, you lucky dogg!

It's three X's, of course. You should come up Friday night, I'm sure the ladies would love to meet you! :) Actually, I think they're doing a remote from a nudist camp or swinger club this week... oh yeah another cheap plug, my GF is going to start designing their wardrobe... hehe how's that for using the board like a classified page!

P.S. TAN also has Food Nation with Elizabeth Dougherty (another transplant from WGUL, bonus points if you can tell me which legendary Lassiter protege produces that show) oh my...

While it is nice to hear some familiar voices on the BL Show; it's a bit ADD at times. However, to echo some of the favorable posts, I too am enjoying WTAN more and more. "Buddy Verde," "Foxxxy Forum," "Kevin Trudeau," "Imus," "Alex Jones," "Dr. Paul" etc. 1340 should "pump-up the volume" regarding signal strength though.
I recommend that WMGG 1470 increase the signal strength as well. "Mancow" is hilarious though filled with a ton of static (and I live in the same county as the transmitor), and the "Captain" as well, and "Savage" comes in much clearer even though it is in Sarasota.
Keep pumpin' da jamz WTAN!
