The Blitz' accouncement:
At 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 1st, WBZX Program Director Hal Fish announced that it was Howard Stern’s last day on The Blitz. Friday, September 2nd, Fish will anchor the morning drive show on WBZX giving listeners the opportunity to have their voices heard regarding Howard Stern.
With Howard’s impending departure to satellite radio we knew this day would come. When Howard announced his plans, North American Broadcasting began a national search for a morning show to replace Stern.
On Tuesday September 6th, a new era of Columbus radio begins with “The Grego Show.” The Blitz is pleased to announce the new morning team of Grego, Shannon, and Mo. They will also be joined by current Blitz personality Mark “The Shark” who will continue to deliver news and sports.
Grego headlines the new morning show. He most recently has been on the air at 97.1 The Eagle in Dallas where he hosted the “Grego and Brian” morning show. Prior to that he hosted “The Real Man Morning Show” at KLOL-FM in Houston. He has also worked at WIOD-Miami, WIYY-Baltimore, WYNF-Tampa and WPYX-Albany.
Joining Grego will be Shannon who most recently was on the air in Baltimore. She and Grego have worked together in the past while the two were in Dallas.
Also joining the morning team is Mo, who most recently was on the air in Tampa. Grego and Mo have worked together in the past. The two comprised the Grego and Mo Morning show at WIYY in Baltimore and at WYNF in Tampa.
The addition of Grego, Shannon and Mo offers WBZX a great opportunity to reach out to all of those advertisers that have not used WBZX in the past because of Howard Stern and it opens a huge audience for many of our advertisers that have used the station, but avoided Howard.
For those advertisers that loved Howard, the experience of this morning team shows that we are serious about maintaining a quality product for our listeners. The new morning team offers local content, is promotionally friendly and will be involved in the community.
