The Bob & Tom Show moves to 99.7 - more changes to come at NABCO?

I hope your friend is right. Blazor is a good guy. This news is a sad way to start the day.

I will never understand why companies fire people at Christmas. It's absolutely rotten. You cannot tell me that NABCO couldn't have waited a few weeks to do this. What a way to ruin the holidays. I hope as well that Blazor gets another daypart. He is a great guy. But that means someone else's Christmas will be ruined to make room for him.

Using nothing more than "instinct" to come to this conclusion, I think it comes down to fiscal reports. The company books show a significant decrease in costs going into a new fiscal year.

I kind of expected Bob & Tom to move off of TDA for some time now. Although they talk allot, it just didn't seem to be a perfect fit with the sports/political talk format. So what will fill the void left by Bob & Tom in January on TDA. I'm guessing More Sports or Political talk, although if they could actually put a local News show on TDA, that would be a perfect fit, and they do have a News staff on AM 920 WMNI.

Just a thought,

That's the rumor. But I'm not exactly in-the-know. This is all second hand info. Maybe somebody who's actually inside the building will shed some light.

My Jones/ Dial Global rep spilled the beans-

Yes- Glenn Beck to going back WTVN (I won't say in what time slot)
This shows the value of the five year market exclusive contract WTDA had with Premiere Radio Network.

also- Michael Savage going from WYTS to WTDA and Neal Boortz to coming WYTS (evenings)
Clark Howard also coming to WYTS.

Also- Dave Ramsey allegedly is moving to WTDA also.

We will see. Stay tuned.

Are you suggesting there may be one less big bass brother?

Ok so weird stuff here. I thought Ramsey and Clear Channel was tight. I can't imagine them giving him up. And it could fit when Billo hangs up the headphones.

Or they could also do the Boortz in the soon to be old Billo spot. While YTS has Clark parked on Sunday afternoon, I can't imagine them going m-f with him. Also, it's unusual for Jones/Dial to break packages. Doesn't Jones/Dial rep both Clark and Boortz?

The real question is when will Nabco sell? WTDA will NEVER EVER EVER EVER get ratings. EVER! End of story. Maybe if they get Jesus H. Christ, they might pick up a few points, but from what i hear, the JC is out doing some other stuff now. 920 is as worthless and 99.7 ain't doing much better. a local morning show was supposed to be their big sell and now thats gone. its really gone completely down hill since stern left and they can't seem to sell the rock format... no matter how they position it. to answer the initial question, i believe within a few years.

Even if 103.9 somehow got a huge signal upgrade? (Not that that's ever gonna happen.)

One thing is for certain: As long as FISHCO, er, NABCO remains under the current ownership (which is probably for at least the next 50-60 years), 99.7 will always be some sort of rock.

well, yea, if that happened it would help, but as you stated, that's never going to happen.

Well I can only hope you are wrong. I don't mind TDA losing Glenn Beck but gaining a bigoted Michael Savage... ugh. When I heard B&T were moving to 99.7 this morning on the radio I immediately thought either 1) format change or 2) more sports. It would be a damn shame for Columbus to lose Shark on Sports in the afternoons.

I agree with you, CBusDave. The only thing I listen to on 103.9 is Shark on Sports.

Mancow will also be on 103.9 either starting the 29th or the 5th.

Bad timing all around. I really hope that Blazor and Mo both land on their feet soon. Very tough time to be getting axed though. Have never really been a fan of B&T, was really happy to actually hear good music in the mornings on 99.7. 96.3 is getting old and I get tired of hearinf the same songs on 105.7 every morning. But at least they do play music.
As for 103.9, I would love for them to actually go to more sports during the day, but keep Shark where he is at. Kinda hoped that they would be the ones to pick up the Clippers, but that ended up going to 920.

Just hope that again, both Blazor and Mo and anyone else affected by these cuts are able to land some kind of a gig soon. Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season.

This looks like programming for four different radio stations will be affected to some extent.
99.7 FM, 103.9 FM , 610 AM and 1230 AM all look to have some programing changes over the next few
weeks. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see WMNI 910 AM go to all spots programing during the next few weeks.

As far as Glenn Beck moving over to WTVN radio, I would expect to see him take over his old time spot on WTVN from 9:00AM to Noon. Joel will then be moved up to evenings on WTVN. That way Joel will stay on
WTVN and they will have the same amount of hours devoted to local programing on the station as before.

As for as Michael Savage moving off of WYTS in favor of Neal Boortz, that is a good change. In fact, I asked
the old WTVN/WYTS P.D. about that very thing last year.. It looks like they may not be under contract with Savage any more. This is what Bruce Collins. ex P.D. had to tell me about that program request I made last year:
