The Bone and Galaxy

The problem with Galaxy is/was Ted Latrine's personal vendetta against PYX and his lame attempts to thwart a 50,000 watt powerhouse with a measley 3,000 watt station.
The bone/94 Rock COULD have been successful, but we all see how well they are doing NOW. That .6 is really impressive.
As for JR, he was one of the greatest talk show hosts EVAH!!
If JR was still in afternoons, he'd still be on top. Again, the owner thought it would be better to pull his #1 money making show on in the morning with already established "morning shows" in the market and didn't make any sense to flip JR to mornings. The only person who didn't realize the bad move was Levine. TSK TSK TSK

Big mouths at pesky little 3,000 watt stations are a real pain huh? It seems they are all over the Capital Region.

I'm sure that Ted Latrine would rather have a .6 on The Bone over paying dumb and dumber in the morning, and sleepyhead middays on 94-Rock. At least after the recent flush of payroll they will contiue to surrive. A bunch of surrvivors I tell ya! 

The only thing that JR was on top of was the list of arrogant jocks in this market who think they still have what it takes. NO MORE EXCUSES! The Show was mediocore in the afternoon and really bad in the morning.

The Bone! The Bone! The Bone! Still a thorn in the side of little stations that will never make it :'(

The Bone doesn't bother me.
They are as much of a competitor as Radio Disney....literally.

A sales person I know recently was talking about an audio she had of Bone sweepers that indicated they would be picking up classic hits from Jones.

That was 2 months ago...I'm betting Ed has sold the stations and decided to not flip but leave it and can the two knuckleheads still on the air there. Too bad they are too green to see what is about to happen to them.
 
Good Point...I Also heard those liners....I think a flip to Christmas music is in order. They have over a hundred CD's devoted to the genre in the building.
 
I bet those so called knuckleheads are learning a hell of alot working at the Bone. No one said that it was a

glorious job. I listen to The Bone on the regular basis and it sounds to me like they are doing the best with

what was given to them. How many radio people do you know who can say that a year out of school they

were on Morning Drive and Operations Manager? I know of the both of them and they are good people. It

sounds to me like the people on this board have a problem with Ed Levine. Keep it that way! No need to bring

inocent people in on it. Besides even if they were let go today...with their new resume they are bound to land

somewhere that's better than The Bone or 104.9 anyway. You people crack me up with your "I know

everything" attitude. Let's look who that guy Fish replaced. Let's see on 94-Rock we had a crazy guy in the

morning with a big mouth side kick and then crazy guy was given a new side kick who could never talk

straight. It may not sound great now but from the looks of it he has a reason. Just out of school!!! That girl

that they have on afternoons Melissa I think has a natural voice for radio. Let's look at who she replaced. A

guy who from what I hear could never get out of bed long enough to come to work. Just calling it like it is!
 
Fish - it is nice to see you figured out how to use spell check. It is also nice to see you think so highly of yourself despite the fact everyone in the market finds you to be one of the funniest jokes going.


After the Bone, I'm sure the only people in the market that will be impressed by your resume are the folks who scoop dog crap in the park.

Actually it is you're. You are. Not your. Be careful how you use the word idiot. :) Anyone who believes that The Bone is worth anything and anyone working there is good at anything is indeed an idiot.

As for the name, CBS6 is almost the worst one in the market. It is called humor, something you try to do in the morning but fail. Am I the only one who finds it funny that Ed put an illiterate in charge?

I also know radio very well but I'm not posting here to compete with you over how much I know or don't know. It doesn't take any knowledge of radio to know how inefficient The Bone is. I just wish it would go away so we don't have to hear about it any longer. Ever again.
 
So which of those two "talents" is the Operations Manager anyway??? Just curious....Or you could say that I'm fishing....
 
The answer to the question of who's doing what could easily be answered. Don't they have a website?
How much longer can you bicker about the Bone anyway?

I defend the people at the Bone because they work thier A***S off!

The Bone is so inefficient that they continue to show in a big way on the Miller Kaplan reports. I hope they keep taking local dollars away from the wanna be stations in the market.

Run...Run...Find out what a Miller Kaplan report is. :D

I don't have to work at the Bone or be a past employee to like or hate them. I appeciate what they deal with on the day to day basis.

I've been around these boards long enough to know that when the Miller-Kaplan report is brought up, it's almost always by a lackey from Syracuse. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out that after 4 pages of 'debate', this guy most certainly works for Galaxy. Nobody else would even care enough to keep this thread going this long.

And as long as you are bringing up Miller-Kaplan, post some figures (for the Albany stations only please, not the entire company). I figure the results for the last two years will do. Put your $$$ where your mouth is and show us exactly how much dough Ed's hauling out of the market. There's no rule against posting M-K numbers here.

If you don't post the numbers, you're nothing more than the everyday troll.

come on, we all know that no one over at the bone as any creativity when it comes to making liners and bumpers. all the new ones suck. i'm sure the voice guy that reads them thinks the same thing.

Hate is a very strong word. I dislike most of the old crew...They did a poor job with a good product. That is the cold hard truth. As far a the creativity...Give it a rest!!!

Find facts to about the current staff to write about not opinions!

I defend the station that keeps trying to make it everyday. It's about the people at Galaxy Albany not Levine.
If the only thing you have against them is the fact that the morning guy Fish sucks. I guess they are holding their own.

Fact:DJ gets fired for sleeping in one to many times!!!

Fact:DJ opens his mouth on the air one to many times!! He get's fired...Can't say bad words on the radio.

Fact: DJ is so damn negitive on the air he manages to loose most every listener in morning drive.

Fact: The Bone is a great name for a station. This is not a opinion. Ask anyone and they know that    The Bone is a radio station.

Fact: A pretty good mix of music. This is not a opinion. Ask anyone and they say they like the music.

Let me guess what you will say next. Hmmm? I got it! "Yeah but FISH sucks". If that's all you can say i'm gald that I picked The Bone to defend.

Outside the morning guy The Bone is a good radio station. Some things never change 8)

He was NEVER fired. He Quit.

Fact 2: Calling someone a ***** on the radio isn't a violation....Free Beer and Hot wings use the word a dozen times each hour.

Fact 3: The JR Show was never intended for mornings. The show is an afternoon show. Levine was an idiot for putting him in mornings.

And I haven't even mentioned that morning guy of yours...what's his name??

I've got my suit picked out for the Bone's funeral. I look good too. I look damned good!!!

Actually....he came in late one last time, as the story was told to me, and he quit on the spot, knowing that he was going to be fired anyway, after multiple warnings....
