Listening in this morning betwen 6am and 6:45am-There didn't even sem to be a board op there. Songs going directly into commercials. No live jock. Has this been going on long? I did hear a promo for Alexis mid-days. I thought she was doing mornings until they replaced Gary. Is this the beginning of the END of the BONE?? LOL

The board op had to take a really, really, REALLY long bathroom break. ;)

Then they must of been playing STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN or maybe FREEBIRD? *** Insert evil laugh here ***

They run ENCO over at the Bone so its very possible they had everything dialed in to run without a board op. Its easy to do. You can create the segways and cues in the original log and then load it into the system and viola no need for a board op. ENCO will even chain over at midnight if you program it right.

There hasn't been a jock in am drive since Gary left at the end of January. What is sad is that am drive still performed better in today's ppm #"s than pm drive on the Bone.;)

Better? We must be talking TENTH's :D

It could be a possility that since The Bone is already classic rock, that they can change this to "93.3 The Fox" since Cumulus already have the "Fox" classic rock format in the U.S. and maybe bringing in either Bob & Tom or John Boy & Billy for mornings, Cumulus have them too.

They apparently don't have all the bugs out of the system yet. The 7:30ish sports report by Rich Phillips (Dick Hicks) this morning was yesterday's report. Automation may not be the answer.

Last night on my way home I was scanning the dial and came across 93.3... It was silent for about fifteen minutes in the 6:00 hour. Oops.

Some autmation systems can do this effectivly, but I don't think it's wise to automate any portion of weekday AM or PM drive in this market.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dead Air monster strikes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously it sounds like they don't have their act together from a technical standpoint. The rules say that the transmitter must be configured to automatically shut down in the event of any technical problems, after about 2 to 4 minutes. I can't recall the exact time frame, at the moment. But lengthy dead air is considered a technical problem, so we better report this to the feds. :D

This happens when the talent/board op/production person/PD/APD or any of these mentioned fail to load the appropriate audio per certain cart scheduled to run in that break. Has nothing to do with the automation system. Its all human error.

;D I'm sure they will as soon as they perfect that whole "text to speech" thing to sound more human. 8)

So they're not even willing to give P&K a shot at mornings???

I wouldn't. have you heard their show?

Plus P&K may not want the morning show slot. It sucks having to get up that early in the morning.

Maybe middays would be a good place to try automation. Nobody is paying attention. Of course a small handful of people might recall having heard that program, playlist and all, the day before.

Mid-days ARE manned w/Alexis--(womaned?). It just took me by surprise that morning drive would be allowed to have the ENCO run the show.

Having lived in other markets that carried them, I wouldn't mind Jon Boy and Billy or Bob and Tom. I wouldn't call either show great, but JB&B hit the redneck button while B&T get Todd Snider, Tim Wilson, and Duke Tomato in studio enough to make them bearable.
