The Bone's Talk Lineup

So as of now we know it will be Bubba in the mornings followed by the Billy Madison show out of San Antonio, then Cowhead, then Spice and Nick & Artie.

What exactly will the times be? Everything from Billy Madison on seems pretty straight forward, but will there be another show in between Bubba & Billy or will that be some best of Bubba stuff in there? Also, any idea on plans for overnights?

Did Cox simply fire the music jocks or move them to all the vacant shifts on WXGL and WDUV------let me guess

Here's the lineup...

Bubba 6a-10a
Drew Show (Drew Garabo after his 97x morning show is over) 10a-12p
Billy Madison (piped in from San Antonio, TX) 12p-3p
Cowhead 3p-7p
Spice 7p-10p
Nick & Artie 10p-1a

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

I heard Billy on with Cowhead this afternoon and wasn't really impressed, but I know that isn't exactly a fair arena to judge him in. It seems weird they wouldn't try to do a completely local line up given the uniqueness of the format to the market.

My guess is they had something else lined up and it fell through.

Honestly, at work we were hoping Ron Diaz was the 12-3.

Bubba will have listeners, and I'm familiar with Drew's show from 104.1. He'll have listeners. They'll lose listeners during 12-3 most likely, as the content will not be relevant. Listerners will tune out, (akin to the "Bubba in Miami" effect) and they'll rejoin later at 3 to hear Cowhead. Spice's show, who knows... That 7-10 timeslot is a good chance for him to try out his material. Nick & Artie will probably have a few people listening at first, but taper off after a couple of weeks.

Could be wrong, but yeah. Best of luck. I want it to work.

This is probably why Cox waited until days before the planned April 23 launch date to announce the rest of the schedule...

Ron Diaz? That would be a nice pipedream, except I think he's under contract with the Animal - and even if he wanted to join another station in the market, a non-compete might be in place (see: Mahaffey, Skip)...

So where does Slater go? Overnights?

Bob

I'm hoping that "Slater" goes away. He is the most phoney, pukey, annoying sounding "dj" that I've ever heard in my life. Fake doesn't even begin to describe the sound he has on the mic... I bet he doesn't even like rock & roll, he probably likes show tunes or something.

Ok, so I flipped to The Bone last night to see what they were playing anything different, and I caught a promo for one of their new amazing shows. Some dude comes on and says, "Hey, you've probably never heard our show before, but if you tune in on Monday here's what you can expect. We're going to shock a retarded guy in the face with a taser."

That's all I needed to hear. Congratulations Cox, this is even classier than the promo you were running about Dick Clark drooling on himself. If there are people who really want to hear this crap, I give up...

Big surprise. I knew they'd put Garabo in there somewhere. Way to seek out NEW talent Cox. What a joke. They REALLY need to be local 12-3. End of story.

I listened and enjoyed Drew Garabo's show on Real Radio in Orlando for years, i think he will do very well in this market. Smart guy, knows good radio.

and @ cedric, jeff slater is a pro - team player, wealth of experience and knowledge of the business. He too is also a guy i listened to in orlando for a couple years. you could do better??? what time is your show on? would love to hear it.

Nice to hear all the 'experts' on the board here chiming in. let's see what happens, can't wait. this market has been in need of a hot talk station for years.

Friday nights at 11. ;D

No, Bubba's sister.. Tara... has replaced him on the show for now.

And they're playing the same music as before, overnights between 1am and 6am when there are no talk personalities scheduled, for anyone wondering.
