Will it last? It is just beginning dude. This isn't like a lame niche format, WOLF is pure Country: a real format with dynamic airtalent and programming. There is a group of young programmers and talent that are exploding on this market. The WOLF team, MOVIN's Lineup, Marcus D will do wonders with KBKS, especially if paired with Jubel in mornings. Young, fresh sound and talent in real (non-niche) formats. This is no JACK, this is no 80's.
Have you heard the talent in the market? Icabod is nice, but nice doesn't cut it for big ratings, just nice ratings. Kent and Alan are nice. These guys are living on past glory. Bob Rivers, I just don't get and he lost about 30% of his audience to BJ Shea with more to come. T-MAN will wither under attack from Marcus D if he is allowed to do mornings. If I am going to war you want young legs: Fitz over Ichabod...Fitz and Marcus D over Kent and Alan...BJ over Bob Rivers...Lisa and MOVIN over T-MAN. Finally Seattle has a team of young talent in programmers and air-staff that will work 60 hours a week until the job is done. Do you really think Ichabod is there after 11am? Do you think Kent is even in the building after 10am (he probably voicetracks the last hour). Bob Rivers misses more shows than he actually shows up for. Why should they work hard...they have big contracts and can ride out the next couple of years. They have no incentive to want it. Now there is a team of people with talent and incentive and the ratings are showing what can happen. WOLF owns Seattle, MOVIN almost catches KUBE 18-34 in JUNE, BJ almost catches Rivers in June. Change is a comin.
