The Breakfast Club

So, how long before Clear Channel decides to push this show into weekday syndication? They've already signed on for the "Weekeends with The Breakfast Club" syndication. Not a fan of syndication, but it'll me a smart move as all 3 djs are nationally known thanks to TV shows on VH1 and MTV2.

Well there you go folks. It was only a matter of time. Birmingham and Norfolk CC stations are also joining the list. Now stations with local morning shows like K97 Memphis, FM98WJLB Detroit, 107.5 WGCI Chicago and POWER 99 Philly should be worried.

Now the other picture, markets where CC has both Urban and Urban AC stations that has Harvey on the Hip-Hop station like Jacksonville, Augusta (local Urban AC mornings), Montgomery, New Orleans and Savannah. They could put the Breakfast Club on Hip Hop and dump Joyner in favor of Steve Harvey on Urban AC.

Can't forget CC Hip-Hop stations that have Rickey Smiley like Columbus,Ga, Macon and Albany, GA could also go with the "in house" Breakfast Club.

So far Milwaukee's V100.7 Jams is the only CC urban to boot Harvey for the Breakfast Club, and Tucson's Hot 98.3 is the only pure rhythmic to take the show. On the latter it should be interesting how TBC can cross over to the rhythmic audience in the long run.

Now theoretically (yes, theoretically) in the case of CC urbans still with local AM drives that could take TBC:
1) Chicago and Detroit urban audiences would no longer have a local AM choice anymore. IMO that would be messed up and they're both Top 20 markets.
2) Norfolk is left with a local option which is Z104 (Entercom) but it is a pure rhythmic, Hot 97 NYC is still local AM, and I'm confident San Fran's KMEL (co-owned w/sister Wild 94.9) won't take the show given that it recently rearranged its jock lineup and it being in Pacific Time Zone.
3) Memphis and Philly would still have a local option on their urban competition which leans rhythmic.
