This is a joke, right?Ihearts Philly cluster is weak
Ahem…WIP? And so what? The cluster is the cluster. In any group you’re going to have the top station, the bottom station and whatever else in between. Your point here is…pointless.WBEB and KYW are two main cash cows
That is looked at when sales are made. A good example was the dominance in sports revenue that cause a time of sale sale of one of the Boston sports stations. But if an operator does very well against all competitors, that is different. At what level are they over the allowed limit for market revenue? Audacy seems pretty high in that regard.
Mega looks doomed. I betcha it's gonna become completely broken, like sister station WSNR 620 in New York.If rumba ends up eating into Megas revenue the owners of mega might have to buy a full market FM signal to compete with Rumba
Actually, the stations on 97.9 FM and 620 AM haven't been sister stations since 1997. It was only after it was sold by Spanish Broadcasting System that the AM station began using the WSNR call sign. WSNR is now a stand-alone station that is owned and operated by a Russian-speaking businessman.Mega looks doomed. There’s also a Breeze in NJ at 100.7 FM WHTG and 1410 AM near Asbury Park. They boast 55 minutes of music each hour and they stream. It’s a lot of 70’s and 80’s but they played 3 songs today from 1969 within about an hour or so. The songs were Na Na Na Goodbye by Steam, Someday We’ll Be Together by the Supremes and More Today Than Yesterday by Spiral Staircase. These songs stuck out to me because I wasn’t expecting 3 songs from the 60’s within such a short period of time. I can’t remember how far back in time the Breeze in Philly went but I don’t think it was the 60’s.If anyone is looking for the breeze replacement, iheart’s 98.1 The Breeze in the Bay Area of California is pretty much the same format. They do 98 minutes commercial free each day, 11:50am to 1:30pm and again 6:50pm to 8:30pm. It’s clearly 3 hours behind us.
