The Brew 105.7 is now 105.7 The X, Alternative

Just checked it out. Sounds more like active rock to me; also basing this on their playlist on their website

Hmm. Arctic Monkeys, Manchester Orchestra, Bastille etc have been on the last two days. They do play some Foo Fighters and RHCP, but I don't think it qualifies as active rock in my book. The real problem is the 6-8 minute commercial breaks. Reminds me why I don't listen to FM much anymore, unless it's Jack FM.

Do they ever listen to the final product and hear how bad it is? Sit in your house for 2 hours or take a long drive, it's a mess. The presentation and image is awful, too long of breaks and the music all can be heard elsewhere for the most part. 1057 The X won't last 2 years. Should have tried something like 106.5 The Lake in Cleveland.

Just now saw this (the notification email came over a month late), but I totally agree. I guess the tweaks they've now made to 93.3 were part of a cluster plan that included switching 105.7 to alternative. While that's an improvement in many ways something like The Lake would have been better. Funny thing is they're trying to position the new 93.3 as Adult Hits-like variety ("don't try to make sense of our music," etc), but that's a big stretch.

They've really changed up The X's playlist. Tons of alternative gold, pop rock, and a substantially smaller rotation of new tracks. Reminds me of their old Radio 106.7 format.

BTW- what's up with 102.5 "crowd funding" their tower? I'm a little torn on businesses asking listeners asking people for money.

I wonder if the "owners" of 102.5 are thinking about "selling" that signal finally... CD102.5 "leases" that signal for their programming... they don't actually own the transmitter/tower/license.
