"The Brew"

First off, I'm not like the other guy that posts about "The Brew" on many other boards. I just want to know what you think.

Does anyone think that "The Brew", a Clear Channel based format that does well in Milwaukee, would work in the Hudson Valley? It is something like the Jack of rock, playing a variety of rock music, mainly from the 80s. Does anyone think CC will test the format in the Hudson Valley? I think it would do well. Also, from the past flips, it seems CC flips an AC station. Maybe they will give up on "Lite".

The music concept might work, but probably better under another name. "The Brew" wouldn't have the same local significance here as it does in Milwaukee, since after all, that's where they make the cheap beer. Now, you could franchise the 'Brew' name and automatically stereotype your target demo, but I dont think that'd fly too well from a sales standpoint.

Now I'm not saying there isn't any history of brewing here in NY, but outside of that sewer water that passes for beer out in Rochester (Genesee), there aren't that many big label brews from 'round these parts anymore. Mostly the micro-brew stuff nowadays, and probably not popular enough to actually name a radio station after it.

Now that I think about it, we could try 'Beverwyck-FM'.... Too retro? :)

I can see it now on T-shirts: BREWSKI-FM pasted on a big glass of suds. Yum.
