Quite an unfortunate afternoon for a few of us at RBG Vegas.
 
Wow that sucks. Yeah I hear Violet on now, who I think is the last member of the original airstaff. "Area 107.9 Where It's All About The Music... cuz no one works here."

My standard opinion about Area is : how long can they keep pouring that money down the rathole? I've been expecting the station to go under for more than a year. If this is the way they're going, they should have made it a jukebox in the first place, and been done with it.

it doesn't matter what they put on with that signal. we've been saying it since 2001 when it was V108...the SIGNAL needs to be "fixed".

even if they put stern on 24/7 with that signal i seriously doubt it would ever improve...ok maybe a point. again it has nothing to do with what's being put on the air with that signal. the signal is a little better since i worked there in '01, but most people aren't going to put up with an inferior signal...hell i won't even put up with a weak Ipod/fm transmitter in my car!

who knows maybe it's not the signal, but that's all we heard on the streets when working V108 street promotions, "we love your station but the signal sucks." that's all we heard. it's just too bad they keep throwing money at everything else. it might still be "V108 Las Vegas' Hip Hop and R&B" if the then owners seriously busted their humps to get a better signal.

but what do i know...i'm a board op...not a smart suit guy. =/

There is a application to move the tower to Meadview, AZ but it hasn't been approved by the FCC for CP status.
 
the home equity decline and high fuel costs are impacting auto sales, food sales, entertainment etc.
