I thought I would make a new thread on HD and use it like a running blog of sorts for people to post their thoughts on Buffalo HD Radio. I bought a radio last Monday (a Sony XDR-F1HD tuner). I'm a bit of a tech junkie I also subscribe to Sirius (I have one at home and one in the car). I wanted to see if the HD hype actually delivered.
Yesterday (July 27) was the first day I noticed that WBFO-2 was finally on the air running the WXPN/Philaedlphia "Xponential" AAA format feed. If you have ever heard the program "World Cafe" it's just a long form version of that with no voice tracks, just a few liners. Sounds good. I noticed the carrier for WBFO-3 was on as well over the weekend, and last night they were playing different music than the WBFO main channel and now it is simulcastig WBFO.
I didn't know until this morning that WNED-2 is actually a simulcast of the programming of WNED-AM, which is supposed to be broadcasting in HD at some point.
As someone mentioned in the WBUF-HD thread, Regent is mailing it in by simulcasting thir main channels. Tsk-tsk.
Thoughts or comments from anyone before I ramble on?
