The Bull is Sounding Better & Better

I couldn't have imagined saying this 4 months ago. Every time I listen to The Bull, it sounds better than the previous time. Somebody there really knows his formatics and music.

The morning show will be so key.

My question is, why did they wait 2 years to put on a good product?

Agreed. They have really a very good sounding station now. The music is great, less commercials, imaging has improved 110% Madison sounds great in mid-days, even though she's not local she is fun to listen to. Lance has been there from the start and does an ok job (and I think he's music director). Good decision to drop the Braves and concentrate more on the music. You're right, the new morning show will be key, but whoever they get they will need to do a better job at promoting than they did with Cledus.
Is this the work of Scott Lindy?

I've gotta ditto the comments above. The Bull is getting better - at least compared to the other country station in town.
We still have the same 'ol issue of "more of the same." It is unfortunate that we peeps are soooo habitual about everything. Creatures of habit we are......we want the same stuff over and over - even if it makes us grow hair on the back of our palms. I complain about radio but the sad fact is most of us want to hear "Freebird" a thousand times a month.
I, too, am wondering who the new young and handsome country radio star will be. I hope it's not the guy on last night who was talkin' about eatin' snot for a snack........

I find this very disturbing. I'm actually sorry The Bull sounds better because I want it to fail. Clear Channel's decision to nationalize radio, fire local talent by the wagonload and turn every station into a low cost juke box is killing our industry, and I refuse to support it.

Don't single out ClearChannel - practically every station in the USA has adopted "jukebox" radio. Funny thing is....PPM wearin' folks seem to like "Jukebox" radio.
It seems only a minority wants this so called, "better radio." Most folks seem satified with what's there - there is no incentive to experiment. Now.....I'm convinced that if someone came along with a better idea for radio programming that people would listen and that would become the new "standard" to emulate.
But for now....just keep playing "Freebird".......and don't talk too much....we'll be happier than pigs in sh*t.

It seems that most people are satisfied with brain decay and heart disease, too. It wasn't my intention to single out CC... but the Bull is the topic of this thread. If the "killer c's (how is it all the major radio owners start with the same letter?) succeed in flushing all the talent out of the radio, there will certainly NOT be "the next big thing" and this bulletin board will be as widely read as the one for blacksmiths.

...Maybe...but it just doesn't matter, the ship has sailed...the first year of its existence and the second year. The first morning show plan, and then the second. All loosing plans, the Braves and I could go on and on. Music was too broad, not current or different enough from what Atlanta had in its heritage. However you want to malign KICKS, it has history and obviously by the ratings, pre and post PPM, the people (if not the radio geeks) have decided. you cant keep reinventing yourself and not be good enough to make a difference. Too many commercial messages in TV that didn't keep the promise as well. This is also not the environment that you can spend a lot of money marketing yet another new "something". so this change will go, even if good, probably mostly unnoticed. Its simply too late.

We will see if the Bull sounds good in the ratings department. Like some of us, we still think that changing 94.9 two years ago was not a good idea.
