"The Burn"?

I was wandering what this was, I heard this, this morning. Is this a mixshow??

That's the people who don't like that particular format. That's probably just about the majority of the people who post on this board. I'm not one of them though. I happen to like MOViN. I'm glad I go against the grain on this board. Otherwise, it would be boring if we all liked the same thing and agreed on the same thing. To be honest though, you do get on my nerves sometimes with your negativity. Anyway, Merry Christmas!

From All Access:

Will Something 'Burn' In Dallas In 2007?
ALL ACCESS hears that the new year will usher in something hot in the Big D. What's movin' and shakin' there? Stay tuned...

Criticism is the nature of this board. Thats the way it is . I don't agree with you a majority of the time and your obsevations, but respect your right to express it all the same. "Movin" is another CBS desperation format. If it succeeds,so be it. One day someone might wake up and decide to have "radio" back on the radio again.

I agree with you on the criticism, but that's about it. Radio is like your job. You can always think of reasons to criticize it, but all the while, you are thankful to have it.

There are some stations like K-104, and KDOK in Tyler that i am thankful for. They are at least serving a community first, plus live and local. The others I will be thankful when they get back to the basics of what a radio station is licensed to do.

ummm...who is this Burns guy....I know it is not the Burns who consults but someone else...whom though? Alley who? I Love Movin, but there are jocks around DFW that would make Movin awesome! Start with Domino and DJ Spin from Casa 106.7...Maria Todd from KRBE fame...Smokin Kevin....Anna Deharo...Sonny Melendrez from San Antonio fame...Freddy Cruz from Z95.5 fame. All Texas Talent! I know we have them!

I had the burn one time, took some pennicillin(sic) to clear it up ;)

Seriously, its going to take more than stunt work to make a decent station, CBS Radio is in some dire straits since they lost stern...They need originality, not just another failed format. The FREE Fiasco with DLR cost them a pretty penny, plus the affiliates (save the LA station with carolla) are just horrid. Ive listed to Movin and im not impressed with the product, switch it back to Oasis...

Teh problem is there are too many country stations, spanish stations, news talk stations,Urban stations. What's missing is an all news station for starters,a Triple A station for another, and more live and local content than lousy VT syndication.

Slam, do you even like that type of music? KPLEX, how long would you sit up and listen to all news on a continuous basis? Triple A is cool, but I wouldn't be impressed by that, because that's not my thing. I like MOViN', because that's music that I grew up on.

If you "banged your head", or "two-stepped", growing up, then MOViN' will not impress you.

RedBull, I agree with you on alot of your choices, and maybe Nikki will as well.

Who the hell is Freddie Cruz???????? AKA: REDBULLFAN? :D

BUC. I would a majority of the time. When there was KEWS I listened to it a LOT!. It failed becasue it was not promoted efficiently,It failed due to management's decison to pour more money into Young Country. It died because of the Tower Tragedy, and KEWS freq was handed over.
to Young Country until their tower was repaired. Markets above DFW HAVE an ALL news station. Market #5 as well. CBS is in a panic mode, and as one poster pointed out, their "Free FM" over all is a failure and "Jack" is just keeping its nose above water."Movin" is their "flavor" of the month, and if its not heavily promoted ( and so far it hasn't been) expect it to diminsh over a period of time.

Buc, yes actually, I do like underground hip-hop...too bad those artist dont get the play they deserve on the radio

I'd be stupid to sit here and argue with the both of you on the lifespan of MOViN', but I am going to enjoy it while it is here.

im not arguring about the format, im arguring about the brains at CBS behind it...
