THE "BUZZ" IS BACK=(

AM 1200 WRTO has the i buzz back on. I noticed it this morning.

My guess is that their signal is at its full strength of 20kW.

The hash is interfering on all but my most sensitive tuners. AM 1180 is completely gone
again, and 1160, 1230 and 1240 are being hissed on. I'm within a few miles of the new site,
yet this is still really aggravating that this is allowed.

Worse than the noise is that it is all for the 2 or 3 people listening in HD.

I had my co-worker who speaks Spanish call WRTO and ask them why there signal sounded
so bad lately. She told me they said that they have moved and increased their power, that
the signal should be stronger now. No mention of HD. She must be getting interference from
somewhere else. What a crock.

Univision has a dumb a** commitment to IBOC and FM -HD. All their stations are required to broadcast with it turned on. I can understand FM-HD as having value with it's multi-channel capability but AM IBOC is just "legalized interference".

I suspect its more than d***a**. When univision was HSBC they got equity in the Iblock company like many other broadcasters. It may be they must run it on their stations to fulfill the deal. Now that 1200 is all healthy, the buzz is back. Lucky for us, there is nothing worthwhile on 1180 anymore.

Your right on 1180 Link, it's not worth straining to listen to that station anymore. I was out
in by De Kalb a couple weeks ago, and WSQR is playing Pink Floyd and Huey Lewis.

I like that music, it's all over FM though, there is no reason for me to listen to that station
anymore. When it was Timeless Favorites you could hear songs you wouldn't hear anywhere
else. Even though with the RTO hiss box stomping out SQR's signal completely for me, it isn't
really much of a loss now :'(.

I don't get this move to this piped in format. Dial Globals standards format would have been
a much better fit.

I know the Timeless format was phased out so they had to change. Do they have some kind
of deal with Citadel to stay with them?

I can't imagine any of their former listeners staying around for the new format.

Maybe the listeners will listen to their local shows for news and tradio like shows,
however I don't see them sticking around for what I would say is more of a classic
rock format than oldies.

I don't see that many new listeners going there either, since their music is available
all over FM.

If anyone is reading this out in Plano, get a clue, this format is not going to work
for you, if I were you I'd get with Dial Global as soon as you can, if your able too.

You were a station worth seeking out before, and dealing with some interference
to listen too, that is not the case anymore.
