The Buzz is now streaming

This seems to be the new trend and it's one I'm glad to see. My favorite radio station is finally streaming live. Most Entercom stations in the Seattle area have already done this and the Buzz has finally gotten the green light to stream from 5am until 11pm every weekday.

Buzz Streaming

...the toilet now leaks.....better get a plunger....

Re: Buzz Streaming

Yes, consider the worldwide consequences of this. Now all the single losers in Europe will learn to never spend more than 40 Euros on a date, and that single mothers are the root of all evil.

Al Gore will probably disavow any connection with the development of the Internet when he hears the news.

Re: Buzz Streaming

Man there seems to be a huge amount of negative BJ vibes happening in here. It sounds as though some people are a bit jealous of a show that had become a ratings success?

And if you want the easy-to-use link that launches just Windows Media Player:

mms://wmc1.liquidviewer.net/Wxxx

or

mms://wmc1.liquidviewer.net/Kxxx

Obviously, replace Wxxx or Kxxx with the calls of the station you want to hear.

AND about their online commercials

They've been prepping for this for months, why don't they have ANY stream advertisers lined up? They naturally have to blank the aired spots on the stream, but they have literally nothing in place there. When the air goes to commercials, all they have for the net stream is, pieces of '60s surfer rock (the Ventures guitar solos etc), old old commercials from the '50s-'70s "Coke it's the reeeeeeal thing", "Cracker Jack!", "Let it be Lowenbrau!" and station promos. Is there some reason they would not have been able to line up some online ads in advance to take advantage of the additional marketing stream (pun) there?

Jealousy my ass. The man engenders mountains of negative "BJ vibes" because he is a filthy disgusting pig and that is exactly the persona that he has knowingly and purposely created for himself. Don't go around spouting filth and biased male-centric chauvanistic crap and then expect people who you have consciously alienated to applaud your ratings success. He is successful in ratings simply because there isn't ANYTHING else happening in Seattle radio in that time slot. The only thing worth putting into your ear holes at that time of day is "Springer On the Radio" and the local Air America affiliate doesn't even carry it so you have to stream it.

Jealous. Really. Why can't people just hate a guy fair and square, despising everything he says and stands for, without being accused of jealousy. I hate the smell of my dog's farts too, but I'm not jealous.

Re: Buzz Streaming

I was only making an observation. This board despite having some topical industry information generally has evolved into the Internet equivelant of a childhood pissing contest 90% of the time. BJ happens to be a great example of my point. I am not going to argue social value of his show, because I honestly don't agree with about 90% of what he says but that doesn't chnage the fact that his show is a success in the ratings.

I would much rather discuss why shows like his appeal to the masses or draw ratings, than listen to people rip the guy for his schtick. The guy freely admits he has worked at Rock stations and also as he says done "Chick" radio. So why not hate the game rather than hate the player? His job is to get ratings period and he does his job well.

All I am saying is that the vibe given off when this guys name is mentioned is a negative one and makes people in many cases look as though they are jealous or holding some sort of grudge.

They should focus their venom on the people who created "Radio for Guys" and that whole ideal, not the air-talent who is just playing their role and trying to get ratings and keep the paychecks coming.

Re: AND about their online commercials

I am going to say it most likely has to do with the fact that it might be tough to sell something when you are not exactly sure who or how many are going to be listening. I am sure as they begin to pull in some data on how many listeners utilize the stream and from where etc. They will be able to tailor some packages to advertisers, or maybe as ad-ons to their regular spots.
