FYI: The CALL is off the air Friday, Saturday, and Sunday while our equipment is retuned to our new frequency at 91.9 MHz next week. We are hoping to return to the airwaves with our 50,000-watt, loud, stereo signal mid-day Monday (3/19) provided everything goes as planned.

The Federal Communications Commission approved the frequency shift on February 20th.

I was driving home from work this (Thursday) afternoon early-on during the 3-o-clock hour when - towards the end of Relient K's "Forgiven" - the station suddenly went off-the-air. I instantly wondered if that was the last time I would hear The Call at 91.7 FM. I guess I was right.

I'll see (hear) you guys over at 91.9 FM on Monday (hopefully).

The CALL (WMKL) is on 91.9 FM NOW!

The CALL went back on the air about 4:30PM on Thursday afternoon. The CALL is now at 91.9 MHz. The antenna will be replaced over about a 2-day period in the next few weeks. Until then the Federal Communications Commission has authorized WMKL to operate at fractional power. The audio is in mono (for better coverage) until the antenna replacement that will return The CALL to 50,000 watts.

THANKS for the update Rob. It is truly great to have you guys back on the South Florida radio airwaves. A week and an hour was a bit too long to go without my CALL-FM. I ended up listening to hit music compilation CDs or Y-100 while in my car and 'The Message' on XM Satellite Radio while at home. 'The Message' just does not compare to CALL-FM. It's a bit too older-skewing for my personal hard-rockin' tastes.

While driving all around Homestead today CALL-FM was in mono, sounding 'noisy', and also fading in and out at times. I experienced all of that before I actually read your post for the first time this afternoon. It sounds like you guys are operating at perhaps 10,000 to 20,000 watts or so.

I'm looking forward to when we're back up to 100% full power in clear rich FM stereo, but can you announce a day or so in advance on your official web site before that actually happens so that I can plan accordingly for the two or so days of static at 91.9 FM ?
