The camera effect

here's a good one:

what happens to a radio show once TV or online cameras are inside the studios?

I've seen 790 on CSS and I watch Imus every now and then. Imus seems to be running more of a 'TV show on radio' rather then the other way around.

Has the situation ever arose where cameras were detrimental or caused a massive change in local shows? Any stories?

Don't know about local impact so much (although at one time the WSB "Morning News" was being simulcast on Comcasxt Local Access 33 and 750. They had to go to bump slides during commercial breaks, and had some photo ID slides of the remote reporters, but never watched enough of it. Don't even know if they are still doing it. I think the plan was to put Boortz on Local Access but Cox nixed that.)

ABC Radio and TV tried a simulcast of the Don McNeil BREAKFAST CLUB in the late 40's but the bulky camera, hot and bright lights and McNeil's pacing of the show just didn't work.

CBS Radio and TV tried some simulcasts of Godfrey's show, but the cameras distracted him but he was so enthusiastic for TV they decided to do the TV show, and run the audio of it as the radio show. When the daily TV show ended, he went back to the one hour radio format.
