This week he's in Washington, D.C. Next week he's in Madison. The week after that he's in Iraq.
It's a busy time of year for comedian Al Franken, whose on tour promoting both his book "The Truth (With Jokes)" and doing live radio broadcasts of his Air America Radio show, which airs middays in Madison on WMAD/FM 92.1. Franken, who dances around widespread speculation that he'll run for the U.S. Senate in 2008 from his home state of Minnesota, uses both print and the airwaves to challenge, debunk and just plain irritate the current administration and its supporters with sardonic humor.
In Madison, he'll be doing a book signing at 7 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble, 7433 Mineral Point Road, followed by a live broadcast of the show (co-sponsored by The Capital Times) at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Barrymore Theatre, 2090 Atwood Ave. Ticket holders can arrive at 9:30 a.m., and the doors will be open to non-ticket holders to fill all remaining seats at 10:30 a.m.
The Capital Times talked with Franken on Wednesday:
