the Captain Variety Hour

Greetings to all. It is with great pleasure that I invite all of you to spend three hours with "The Captain Variety Hour". Broadcasting on "The Hank and Jim Radio Network", specifically at www.stickam.com/hankandjim two times a week. Cptsparkle is unlike any jock you've heard before. He searches for, hunts down, uncovers, discovers and seeks out the newest of the new as far as adult alternative music goes. He continually presents the listener with fresh released music by unknown artists and of course, known artists. He plays the music that will be on the top 10 charts tomorrow. Not just music mind you but Cptsparkle provides the listener with facts and information that can do you some good. Like information that can help you win a bet in a bar, get you a free table dance in a nudey bar or even get you a discount on your next haircut. He presents "This Day in History" as well as "Famous Birthdays". It's all good and he does it with a flair that only Cptsparkle can provide.

The Cptsparkle Variety Hour can be watched and listened to at www.stickam.com/hankandjim on Sunday morning at 10AM Pacific time. The Sunday show goes until 1PM Pacific time. The Monday show is on from 5PM Pacific time to 8PM Pacific time.

It's a professional show full of entertainment.

Check it out.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Cptsparkle Variety Hour is sponsoring a very special contest this coming Monday August 17, 2009. The very first contest of it's kind will take place on this date and make internet history. "I Made Out With My Dog on Cam Contest" will take place on The Cptsparkle Variety Hour in the last hour of the show. The entrants will have 30 longggggggg seconds to swap spit with their dog. Three judges, picked from the chat room, will judge the contestants from 1 - 10. The contestant with the highest score wins. The contestants will be judged on longest kiss, sloppiest kiss and hottest kiss with their dogs. The grand prize is a brand new, never worn by a human or any other living sole for that matter, T-Shirt!! Sent directly to the winner from Cptsparkle himself. Along with that, the script from the August 17, 2009 show signed by Cptsparkle himself.

Watch the show next Monday folks, you'll be glad you did.

Dumb! Deep kiss a dog for just a T-shirt and a signed script from someone nobody knows?! Offer a real prize, like a netbook or something else of real value, especially to do something that sick.

Mr. Scan, I totally agree with you that this is dumb. A T-Shirt as a prize! What kind of cheap bum am I?

I do want to point out this is all sarcasm. As an amateur and hobbyist, I've listen to the radio extensively for roughly 50 years. Most of my listening occured in Chicago listening to WLS, WCFL, WLUP and the old WVON. As I grew and traveled around the country other stations I remember include WMMS, WNBC and KSHE. All classic radio stations. They all provided entertainment to the listeners. The entertainment consisted of painting a picture by using our ears as a canvas and the verbage and music were the paint brushes. THAT IS THE RADIO I DESIRE TO RESURRECT!

I believe those days are gone, especially for the hobbyist broadcaster. The overwhelming majority of internet radio hobbyists simply press buttons and claim themselves to be "entertainers" or even...as they call themselves, "DJs".

That is not radio. That is nothing. Some of these folks make these huge claims such as a multitude of degrees, years of experience with terrestial radio, know it all attitudes and a very obvious lack of original thinking. I believe the lack of originality with these folks is their major roadblock.

Scanman, you're right in who would kiss their dog on cam? Well watch on the 17th and find out.

Additionally, if you are experienced in our hobby, there are quite a few of us that would petition for critique, help and pointers. Some of the hobbyists in this field take this somewhat serious and would truly welcome helpfull hints and pointers from someone who is accomplished in this field. I might point out now that there are also some very entertaining hobbyist broadcasters out there as well.

Thanks for any help and watch the show on the 17th.

Remember, it's all sarcasm and we are amateurs.

OK, I'll have to see it for myself LOL! As a fan of AAA (a la 93 'RXT), I can certainly appreciate the effort to bring quality programming in this genre to the internet and will wish you good luck with your venture. Take care.
