The details regarding the return to normalcy for CBC programming are in this Globe & Mail article on Thursday:
<a target="_blank" href=http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20051006.wcbc1006/BNStory/Entertainment/>http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20051006.wcbc1006/BNStory/Entertainment/</a>
The upshot, assuming a ratification of the contract agreement between the CBC and CMG, results to be announced Sunday afternoon:
* Tuesday is the "back to work" day for CBC union workers.
* CBC Radio expects a national morning show out of Montreal and a "drive home" show out of Toronto on Tuesday and Wednesday, with local markets back up by Thursday. (If I'm reading the article right, of course. I'm not sure if the Montreal show refers to English radio, but I assume so, because I believe Radio-Canada wasn't affected by the lockout.)
* Speciality shows will return later, like Royal Canadian Air Force (Oct. 28) and Rick Mercer's Tuesday Night Report show (Nov. 8).
* TV's "The National" likely won't return until Wednesday.
The idea, according to the article, is not to "rush on the air" and to give the shows time to be produced professionally. The exception here is for CBC-TV's hockey coverage. The "Globe and Mail" reports that those involved in that effort are starting even as this message is being posted early Friday morning (before the contract ratification), in order to rush to prepare CBC's coverage on Saturday night. The CBC will also apparently air CFL coverage on Monday (Canadian Thanksgiving).
