The "CHILLOUT RADIO NETWORK" is no more!

Who knows why (possibly because the name was a total misnomer and the whole thing an embarrassing marketing blunder?), but the Broadcast Architecture "Chillout Radio Network" is now known as the "Bright Radio Network."

There had to be something bright about the concept, so they put it in their name.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Do you think a certain someone is "lurking" on these forums? (with a little help from his usual radio-info henchmen, of course). Pardon the pun on your persona, brother ;), but I think you know exactly who I am talking about. Thanks so much for posting!!! I needed that laugh!!!

Looking at the fact that the syndicator also syndicates Chill With Mindi Abair the misuse of "chillout" for a format that used the vocals smooth jazz network uses probably really stood out.

Lots of forethought and planning involved there... ::)

Reminds me of our local talk station here owned by Crawford Broadcasting, which dropped the format a couple of years ago for classic hits, and wound up changing their on-air name a total of three times within a wk of the format change. :D

I wonder what it's like to be on a sinking ship then think you're not sinking only to be really sinking. If it looks like a duck and quak likes a duck-it's a duck.
Did they think by changing the name of a format that it would save the format?
