THE CLEAVERS ARE BACK!

Antenna TV has been showing "Leave it to Beaver" for quite awhile now. But now he'll --return?-- to MeTV in May. Didn't "Me" already have the Beav last year? And yet I thought that the same show couldn't be seen on both retro nets at the same time. Wonder if 'Antenna' is dropping it? -- since they've been showing the final season(s) for some weeks now.

I only got "Me" 12 months ago, but I think that Antenna has had the Beav maybe 18 months or so. RTV (now Retro TV) had it about 4 years ago.

Antenna is running a Beav marathon one day soon (I forget the date), and I think will drop it shortly after. Antenna also has Adam 12 & Dragnet, but Me will get those ones as well.

Must be a Revue/Universal distribution deal/switch.

A week from Sunday (April 28).

looking at the schedule on May 1 there are some changes on AntennaTV

Married with Children is on at 10 & 10:30 CDT M-F
The Nanny (oh boy...roll eyes) from 7-8 looks like M-F starting May 1 (guide only goes to 5/2)
no Diffrent Strokes on Wednesday..its All in the Family from 8-10

well heck beev, ya big goof, you're really gonna get clobbered whan dad gets home!!...

But before that dialogue, it's usually Beaver, Richard, or Gilbert taunting Beaver to do the wrong thing, with "What are ya......chicken?"

Antenna is a decent classic channel. I think they are doing their best.

Maude is tiring, only because the series works better on a 7-day circuit, not one full hour every night. (Let's face it, this show was a Broadway play that was only entertaining once a week. Two episodes a night is really tiring.)

I would love to see different programming in their early prime-time. AITF still lasts, but even those episodes are getting old due to the repetition.

What is the answer? Not sure. The Partridge Family is actually quite good, and perhaps needs to move to prime-tme. There is a risk in showing less popular programming, but there must be some shows that people will grasp on to. Perhaps "room 222", or "love american style", or even...(can't think of of one)..

I just don't think running Maude and All In The Family over and over is the solution. (However, I will tune in for certain espisodes that I know are classics)

I don't receive Antenna. Wish I did. It seems to me, looking at their schedule, they are all over the place. Running shows from the 50's to the 90's. ME-TV seems more focused. Mostly 50's thru the early 80's and not much from the 80's. I don't like everything on ME-TV but I do appreciate their effort.

I know that Antenna has had Married With Children and The Nanny on and off since its beginning, but they both seem out of place since they're shows that were mainly from the 90's, while everything else runs from the 50's through the early 80's.

Also, they could totally drop Maude and I wouldn't miss it, and they could cut back on All in the Family for my part. One Norman Lear show I don't know why Antenna doesn't carry is The Jeffersons, which I always liked.

Antenna is the one retro channel I can get all the time, but I only watch it sporadically, mainly when WKRP or Barney Miller are on, and occasionally Burns and Allen and Jack Benny if I'm up late enough.

'The Jeffersons' airs on TV One, a channel geared towards African-Americans.
