The Coast - still no DJs

I live in NYC somewhat out the range of the Coast, but today I listened on the Internet. There are still no DJs at 5:45 PM. Is this permanent or just there until the new format builds a following? The music mix is not bad. I wish that WCBS-FM would have adopted a similar format to this instead of Jack.

Want to see something "funny"? Goto Google's image tab and search "scott michaels drc-fm" and look at the picture, then goto the Coast's web page and click the "Personalities" menu item. You would have expected they would have made some effort to make "Chris Kellogg", a/k/a Scott Michaels, look a little different. Then again, this is from the same idiots (Cox) who got rid of John Harper from Star 99.9 and still can't get a decent morning show there! I think the only thing saving their sorry butts is voice tracking!

Has anybody heard him in the mornings yet? I keep forgetting to tune in, mostly because I'm at work sooo early.

The Coast just hired their new pd/afternoon driver. His name is Eric McDonald. He should be in place mid august.
Bill, not a big fan of Cox huh? Hey, do you have some sort of internet station or something?

Maybe if they got their act together and put some jocks on there, they may actually try to compete with WEBE.

How long do you think it will take until they go Country? ;D

What's the difference when or if they fill out their jock lineup? Everybody and their brother, plus Oprah, knows they're just going to be run of the mill, homogenized, weather reading liner jocks like all of Cox's stations.

While I know one of the engineers for the Cox Connecticut group, I'm not a fan of some of the programming changes that they have done in recent months. I use to be a big fan of the Star 99.9 morning show until they let John Harper go, and now they think they can snowball the common listener by transplanting "Steve Harper" from their Long Island station to do mornings there. They either think their listeners are stupid or they're just trying to make things unpalatable for Steve Harper. I've heard they've done a series of mis-steps on the island at WBLI as well.

To answer your question, yes, I operate an Internet station that plays 60's through 80's during the week and 50's through 70's on the weekends. With the upcoming upgrade to the automation system I will surpassing 10,000 tracks moving toward the goal of 13,000 when all is said and done.

Actually the Steve Harper story seems to be something that was more fable than fact. He did have a chat with the
people at WEZN, but was said to have little interest in the job, while management seems very content with the morning show in its present form
