The Coffee House

I am not a big listener to music on radio. Today I was having some aggressive, nasty dental work done and they had music running that caused me to ask (ask myself... with the dentist sitting in my mouth I couldn't ask anyone else!) what genre of music is this. Then a promo came along and informed me I was listening to "The Coffee House".

I just looked on the Internet and the The Coffee House features: Songwriters doing acoustic presentation.

O.K. That leaves some wiggle-room to cross over into several genres. If I went shopping for music and wanted it to be in the style I was hearing on The Coffee House.... what category do radio folks call music that is included by The Coffee House?

The music on The Coffeehouse seems to cross several genres. Start looking at acoustic but also at folk, though not all songs from either of those would fit into The Coffee House.

Coffee House is a "Triple A" or "Adult Album Alternative" mix in radio terms. There's a wide variety of the terrestrial stations as to how they program it, but the mainstay artists listed on their page are generally core AAA artists.

AAA is a radio format, not a music genre. The original poster asked what genre the music was. If you walked into a record store (if you can still find one) and asked for the AAA section I doubt they would be able to help you.
