The Contest Show????

Replacing Mike McConnell on 'TAM Saturdays. Is this what The Big One has stooped to? I refuse to even listen to determine if it's as stupid as it sounds. ::)

It's been on the air for several years now. And yes, it ain't a good show at all. Co-host is Pat "well, Mike, let me tell you..." Butler. Oh, and WTAM hasn't aired The Weekend for several years now.

I trust you, Nathan, but could have sworn I heard McConnell on the station less than six months ago, and haven't heard of this new show until now. I don't recall, but didn't think The Weekend, with rotating hosts, was on when I left Cleveland in mid-'03.

At one time in the VERY recent past, WTAM ran "The Weekend" followed by "The Contest Show" followed by "Weekend Sportsline".

Now, it appears that WTAM's more interested in running their local contest show (read: ad spot make-good) and a longer Sportsline before (fill-in-blank of sports team network obligation).

Now, I'm all for local programming and such, but can they hide the make-good a little better? I mean, really...

And I do remember WTAM running the rotating hosts on The Weekend, but it always seemed to me that Mike McConnell would invariably be the go-to guy. Hence, probably why he got the "permanent rotation".
