The Count in The Herald

I saw Joe's letter to the editor in The Herald today. Good job, but I have to wonder how long it will be before Joe adds 'published in the Herald' to his resume. :)

I also must say that it was odd to read Joe's work without seeing something from Nik under it.

Way to go, Joe! Hey, doesn't Varulven mean "Wolfsbane"? I was under the impression Jason Wolfe was Joe's cousin until I read that letter. Jason would've been 6 or 8 years old when Vig started Varulven Records. Word to Joe - don't
send your resume' to RKO or EEI! But I'm proud of you!

P.S. I hear the coast is now clear - send your resume to:

Dave Wellington
WBCN

It seems the herald needed some filler that day. I guess between the stuff in the middle east and the big dig isn't enough news.

Mayermike - [EDIT]. The fact that The Big Dig and the Middle East are overpowering most news outlets means it is harder to get a letter through these days. Is it that hard for you to give a compliment for a job well done?

LucyLu - though regionally I've been hired by The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, The Real Paper (later bought by the Phoenix), Woburn Advocate, Stoneham Sun, Melrose Free Press, etc. etc. etc. the Boston Herald has never paid me for my work. However, I could justify putting them on my resume' (though I don't) as they ran my parody of Howie Carr/Eddy O'Brien (convicted murderer) in a "Separated At Birth" in the Sunday Herald circa 1997 or 1998.

I had the Top Ten Reasons Howie Carr & Eddy O'Brien were separated at birth - they printed 8 of them!

We don't have enough time to list my national and international writing credits, thank you for asking, though.
=============================================================

Jane, you (insert Saturday Night Live "Ignorant s...cliche here http://snltranscripts.jt.org/78/78eupdate.phtml ) :) being funny of course, Ms. Grant...

Varulven is Norwegian for The Werewolf.

RE: any relationship between myself and Jason Wolfe, to quote John & Yoko in Rolling Stone:

"Don't be silly."

[EDIT*=inflamatory]

Excellent resume but, depending on time in service at each of the above, it might put off a recruiter in search of a long-term employee.

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf? He'll huff, he'll puff, he'll blow your house down without a reference to WBCN, Nik, Oedipus, the old days of radio, and anything to reference his resume..... :D

Really man, come on, I can't be new to a place and post stuff when I want. Wow, I only have three posts, I must be dumb because of that.

Kudos to your letter. Why don't you send your music to be reviewed by the Herald which apparently only Europeans like?

Mayermike, I"m always fascinated that people know my name and ask me to jump through hoops (Show us Karmazin's letter, why don't you send your music to the Herald)

Let's see, I produce TV, I've produced radio, write for various publications, own a record label, run a consulting business, and everyone on this board keeps questioning what I do. Like Bill Shatner said "get a life".

Don't have time to post all our reviews from The Boston Herald...please - can't you go buy some back issues?
The Herald needs the sales.

I don't recall asking, but it's not like you needed an excuse. Jack-of-all Trade/Master-of-none?

But good letter none the less.

The irony is, Joe sends a letter to the Herald everyday and the globe, the phoenix. This guy is batting 1 for 365 and you're applauding him.

I'm not sure where the irony is INTERcom99. Sometimes the squeeky wheel gets the grease, or in this case, the greasy weasel gets to squeek. I think it was the late Hunter S. Thompson that said, "Even a blind pig finds an acorn every now and then", and yes; we should applaude him that.
