The Cousin Brucie interview on channel 4 this morning.

Cousin Brucie was on this morning describing the Jack format and saying he has options and he will be back.

The woman on the air didn't have a clue regarding the issue and at the end said something like I guess oldies are to old.

Hopefully the next time a former employee from CBS FM is interviewed, it will be done by someone that understands and knows what they are talking about.
Obviously this person was not from New York.

This sheds a little different light on Cousin Brucie's interview on this year's Rewound. I, and probably everyone else out there who isn't a radio insider, thought they were just commenting on the "Jack" format in general Wink, wink...nudge, nudge, huh?

On an entirely different but somewhat related note, does anyone know if the station will eventually have jocks?

Oh and let's keep in mind that Cousin Brucie was bitter BEFORE about the state of radio, (remember how he went on talk shows condeming good morning vietnam because it was factually inaccurate from a radio standpoint...lol) now I bet thanks to Jack eclipsing oldies in a few key markets including "CBS FM EVERYBODY" he's one step away from homocidal!

lol

Possible Jocks for "Jack..."

Guess it's possible, but BEN-FM in Philly (their version of the Jack format) does not and they have been on the air for months now...

What Kind of Jock Line-up would you have???

That's basically the purpose of a "Jack" format - no jocks, news, traffic or weather. In other words, a vast musical playlist and an effectively cheap way to run it, too.
______________

I wanted to hate the format change, but I've been listening to it, and aside from the obvious crossovers to K-Rock's playlists, I like it. Then again, I still mourn WPAT's days of Zamfir playing Somewhere My Love.

Jocks, and especially a morning show, would ruin the flow, I think.
______________
...in my day, you could tell the stations apart by the music they played!
