The CW resurrects "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

The original British version was often funny. The American knock-off was often...meh (as the series went on). They used the same four or five improv bits over and over (Superheroes, the singing bits and the newscasters) that it became stale.

There was at least a bit more skit variety to the British version and the comedians changed from week to week (Mocherie, Stiles and Brady all appeared on the UK show, but so did several UK comedians and actors).

Will they bring back the Hoedown?

Didn't the CW run a similar show a few years back where Drew Carey and
crew improved their bits in front of a Chromakey screen? Did not last very long.

GSN had Drew Carey's Improv-a-ganza, which I think may have been some of the Vegas shows, a couple of years back, and this was after he started on TPIR.

I think it was the WB that had Drew Carey's Green Screen Show. It was a very low quality show with many of the Whose Line? performers.

But how will the supposedly humorless 18-34 female demographic respond?

Oh, and they also need to include Brad Sherwood and his bowling shirt collection on this show.
