The Danny Bonaduce Show's Facebook Page Has Not Been Updated In Over Two Months.

No surprise. Very few in terrestrial radio even understand the concept of social media, let alone keep their entries fresh. The industry has missed the boat on this, mobile and other digital offerings for years. They've lost the 12-30 generation, and the others to follow.

I don't know if I'd go THAT far. For a GOOD example of a regional radio station using social media, see the WMMR Facebook fan page and - just as importantly - the pages of individual WMMR jocks. Sister station WDHA uses Facebook in a completely different way, but also a valid approach and regularly updated.

And, re: the Bonaduce show: It's awful. almost unlistenable.

David Cassidy ... updated 15 minutes ago.
Shirley Jones ... updated 19 minutes ago.
Susan Dey .... updated four hours ago.

Looks like someone from the show or CBS Radio Philly read this. The Facebook page was just updated 12 hours ago with 11 new posts.

Yeah, "almost" because the show is broadcast at a normal human frequency. Otherwise, the content is certainly unbearable, and has been allowed to linger on and on with no end in sight, for what reason? Do they still believe that he's suddenly going to "catch on" someday? YSP ratings haven't budged in 18 months. They must be getting a tax break on the station as a losing venture. Nothing else makes sense, but then again this is radio ...

I certainly can't speak for CBS's motives for sticking with Bonaduce, but he does have a reputation for being a hard worker. The guy still does appearances all the time. What other big market morning hosts can you find pouring drinks at bars? His show is horrible, but the guy is a worker. I guess that goes a long way with CBS.

Hard worker, who doesn't keep up on his facebook page?
In theory, his job is morning host on what was once a legendary radio station. The next Howard Stern, The guy who was going to lead YSP to MMR'S FUNeral..... ;)
I am a 3rd year law student. I want a to be a great lawyer not just a hard worker. To put it in radio terms YSP has lots of hard workers with questionable talent in a business that requires talent. I think the jocks, minus Gordon, are what drive the listeners away. Other stations around the country that play def leppard 50x a day do better then the "heritage rocker" YSP.
Would you want want to see an untalented band, that also pours drinks at the bar? I mean they are hard workers.
Last point, so we all agree YSP is horrible, when does the embarrassment override the greed and they actually try and do something with the station. Let's not forget the days where you could compare MMR with YSP, there is now no point even entertaining that discussion.
