> McBland, dull, arrogant, milquetoast chat, usally about himself, or with the other once powerful Phoenicians from the 70's.
Agreed, that's a mystery call ont he part of our LDS friends. My only thought is that it brought back a lot of the (yes, elderly) cume that KTAR had lost. Maybe he'll retire to his Prescott TV job again soon.
> Larry Gaydos: stupidity has a voice in Arizona. How this guy has a show is amazing, hell, I'd keep him away from sharp objects.
Gaydos is certainly an acquired taste, I'll give you that. But take every talk show host in town 5 years ago, and compare them to where they are now. Most of them are the same, or worse. Gaydos is one of very few hosts who has consistently improved over that time.
> Jay Lawrence: Why? The guy sounds like he was starved of oxygen while in the womb. But, he sucks up to politicians and the establishment.
Jay is a great guy, but a very average talk show host. You have to give him credit though, his topics and guests on weekend nights are often more high-profile than weekday guests on talk shows that actually have producers!
> Dead Simonds: Sounds like a real nice guy, just that he seems to always be the last to catch on to anything, and boring as hell.
Stick to the afternoon news with Heidi "the brain" Fogelsong.
> The God Show: Great concept, I love that, but the host makes it all about him, big surprise.
Even I don't listen to that show, and I haven't had a date in 15 years.
> Voice to America: Great concept, too bad Femino comes off as a cloddish, bumbling jock with only the most cursory knowledge of the world, would be great with an intelligent > host and credible guests (not just Femino's classmates from his year at Oxford)
It's not a bad show, and give Tony credit for doing something a little different. My problem with Voice to America is that too much of the show's content comes from BBC web streams, and there's too much "you heard it here first on the voice to america program". No... I heard you playing a clip from when the BBC said it first! Still, it's refreshing to hear guests from the middle east, not just some guy from a studio in Phoenix talking about the middle east with show prep that consists of watching CNN for an hour.
> Paul Harvey: An icon, but his show was a relic 20 years ago. Paul should retire and enjoy life, good day!
Paul Harvey will go away some day. his son will try to take over with his crappy impersonation, then Gil Gross or someone will try it for a couple of weeks, then it will disappear. Yes, he is old and decrepit, but just let him ride out his last years. We all work in radio, you think any of us will last that long? Well, maybe Gaydos.
