The Decline of WEBN-FM

I'm sure you guys saw the June Ratings. WEBN 10th! When was the last time WEBN came in 10th in June?
WFTK-FM "96 Rock" is really taking a big bite out of the Frog.

On Saturday night I stopped to get gas then I stopped at Papa Johns then to a carry out.
At all three places the young guys working there had 96Rock on the radio.

I'll bet WEBN is hanging on with older guys like me and getting killed with WM 18-25.

Is it possible WEBN could follow the path of their Sister Station in Dayton WTUE-FM
and go Classic Rock? The last time I Air Checked WTUE they were about 80%/20%
Classic to New Rock.

I can't stand WEBN's playlists. 96.5 regularly goes left of center and surprises you with something you have not heard in a while. Both bump the Nickelback style bands far too often for my tastes. I prefer 96.5 just for the variety. TUE is a good listen if you are out washing your car, chilling by the pool etc. but I would never regularly have it on in the car. I have been giving the revamped 105.9 a listen, not bad and interesting cut choices. It is definitely a niche station though, I don't even know what to call the format.

The format is called AAA or Triple-A (Adult album alternative). WNKU adopted this a few years ago.

Here's a wiki link that describes it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adult_album_alternative

Maybe it's time to go back to the original 96rock liner... The Best of Everything That's Rock! I have no problem with Marcy Playground and I love Cake. They should play "Rock & Roll Lifestyle"

Seriously.. WEBN has gone down hill since Mr. K left and has now gone on with the bikers in the sky..

WEBNs glory days in the 90s/2000s were when Fingers, Wood, Bob the Producer, Mr. K., Wendy Walker, Ty Williams, Jimmy the Weasel.... when these folks all went on to other positions/stations, retired- is when WEBN went down hill...

It's really kind of crap station to *try* to listen to anymore.... honestly.

How long before WLW is moved to 102.7 and WEBN is laid to rest? It happened to Q101 in Chicago although that's because Emmis needed the cash.

Microbob: I don't see WLW moving to FM at all. Their problem is not their signal which is still first rate,
it's their content."Sloanie & Tracy" are not evening drive quality. They should be on at night if at all.
And "Doc" Thompson? Please...enough said.
Jim Scott is a nice guy but needs to retire. And the overnight belongs on a Country format.

My two cents worth anyway
