The demise of PMS?

Sunday night on the shortwave, Pastor Melissa Scott, had a modified lineup of the usual lessons and demanding of tithes. But Sunday's program was about 5 minutes of scolding, for failing to financially support her tireless work and not recruiting new members for her dead husband's University Network Church, followed by the usual intermission music/donation phone number. Also, interspersed among the scolding was a declaration that it was no one's business how she lives her private life, her hobbies, who so chooses to associate with or where her money comes from. There was also 'the dire warning' the her church was in a 'do or die situation'. Previously, PMS had claimed that the UNC was going to lose their TV station in LA, due to the inability to afford the conversion to digital. She also had complained that their satellite facilities needed upgrading, because almost no one has those 1970's era dishes or equipment anymore. PMS also lamented that the buying of TV time was in question. The UNC has been tottering on the brink since Dr Scott's demise several years ago, as members fled the church along with their money. PMS is reported to have a 'questionable' background and many former members of the UNC do not recognize her 'ordination' or approve of her 'managerial' methods. Maybe the June 12th DTV deadline will finally bring about the end of the UNC?

I thought she did some sort of long term deal with the Ion network? Where she sold some existing satellite and/or TV station assets, to (?) and then used the money from that purchase to finance a long term airtime agreement to have an hour on Ion's national feed Tuesday-Saturday early AM?

Not sure, though.

...I always felt weird about their outfit... First the 'Neutron Dance" phase with beer and cigar and send money.. Then in Dr.Scott's later years I was surprised to see how much the old guy knew and really did not question his knowledge or teaching, but his manor of life (and his young wife) and lifestyle issues were so opposite of what they were proclaiming.... Very confussing to most who watched.. I am glad I am not an 'eternal judge'.... I wouldn't know what to think...

Yep, you're right there.. But, you know what? I met Paul at TBN when I was at Way-Fm in Nashville... They had just bought the old "Twitty City" and made it "Trinity City" in Hendersonville.... The Tennesseean paper had made a big deal how they were supported by little ol' ladies and they had a budget and intake of support of over 5 million a year! When we read that editorial, we took a calculator and divided up the 5.2 million in annual support by the 275 full and part time local employees of TBN-Nashville... Guess what??? The average worker was getting $18,909.09+ cents a year... No one was getting too rich there!! We did a remote from their Christmas lights celebration and I got to interview and mingle with those in the Christmas Celebration show (in the green room)... Dale Evans and Jane Russell were elderly and fun gals to yak with....Glen Campbell was very open about his shortcomings with Tanya, and the whole music scene... And Paul and I talked roots, life and how we might be 2nd cousins through our Ozark roots near Willow Springs and Cabool, MO..... We spoke on accountability with the then recent fallings of Swaggart and the Bakers... Paul even took me to his office to open the 'books' on the daily audit they run (on paper in those days) and how they structure their accountability to the Ministry supporters and to the gov't. rules...
I was very impressed (though Jan was distant and stayed away from people, in my opinion).... They may be a little or whole lotta' of country gone LA, but they endured and were hand in mouth when others were robbing people blind...... Hey? I'm a ol' Baptist boy that's willing to look and find out, before giving and O'Pine!
