The demise of RetroLightning?

I'm assuming, since there was no RetroLightning Sat., and it is not even mentioned on the website anymore, not even in a historical context, that it is done, finished, kaput-

Seriously bummed about that. For now, you can search "retro lightning" from their homepage (link gone from "on the air") for archives of past shows, but I look for that to be gone soon, too. Their Facebook page is still there, but I expect that to be taken down soon, too! :'(

I may actually have to become productive on Saturday mornings again, maybe even start back to running again!

"Retro Lightning" was always one of my favorite shows to listen to as I ran errands on Saturday mornings, especially when they did the late 70s/early 80s (high school and college years) and it brought back a lot of memories. Mary Brace only did the shows that focused on the year 1985 and beyond, so with no Fred Buc there anymore and the passing of David Hall, there's not really anyone there that could do the years before 1984 justice.

I always enjoyed that show....that's too bad. But, because of work, I haven't been able to listen for some time.

I really enjoyed the sound clips of tv shows and commercials from the time.

Looks like this could be a good part-time for someone. With all the out of work "old timers" you would think someone could do it....

Since this isn't Facebook, I can't "like" the last five statements posted here, so I will do the next best thing! ;)

That is a bummer, I loved that program. It turned me on to a lot of music that I never heard before.

Think Trish and Two Old Hippies are pretty happy with AT 40 on the ALL NEW Hippie Radio 94.5.
My guess is Fred won't be back.

I've heard them there, too. But they've got enough ad dollars to go around, don't they? Just as an aside, it was almost inevitable that Two Old Hippies would show up on Hippie Radio, isn't it? ;D

I'm a big believer in "innocent until proven guilty," but like you, I believe that he is damaged goods. Wonder who is running the station in his absence?

I would love to sit here in my little corner and do a show like Fred did..I too run vintage spots from the 60's through the 80's as well as drops from classic TV and movies and lots of jingles from the rock era that I have edited to fit my show..I most likely am a bit too mainstream..even with a 6000 plus song playlist, I heard music on Fred's show I was not familiar with..I would relish doing a show of " Seldom Heard, Never Played, and One Hit Wonders" for 3-4 hours per week...would even leave the Rockcam on ...I'm sure there's a technical way to simply pick up my stream and run it OTA...Would even work cheap.... :-*..but even at that I might be overpaid.. :p
