The Drive

So what's up with The Drive. They seem to have made some new changes to music and presentation lately? Can they hold the numbers or are they just there until something better comes along?

Best jocks in town and non stop music keep me tuned in.
I will say I also did a double take when I heard Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" song on The Drive about a week back.

I heard that last month. I noticed at least 3 other songs from the 90's added. I don't know how much of the alternative music will actually fit into the classic hits format.

Wait a minute...alt rock and classic hits...sounds like Nashville's 97.1 WRQQ. All you're missing is Bob & Tom in the morning. I have family in Chicago so I've flipped through "The Drive" every now and then. I could never figure out them out anyway so I feel your pain.

Whew. Bob and Tom are horrible. I like to hear music in the morning most the morning FM shows are pretty bad and I cannot receive Am broadcast at work so The Drive it is.

I also heard Collective Soul Shine awhile back, everytime I hear that song I think of that dang VT syko cho who apparently played the song over and over.

I believe I also heard Collective Soul on The Drive as well. I know the playlist is being tweaked.

As for Bob & Tom; they failed miserably on a Chicago station back in 1997, right before Rock 1035 became The Beat. The only stations in the Chicago market that carry their show are suburban stations WRXQ in the Joliet area & WXRD in NW Indiana.

I don't think they were on 103.5 long enough to ever have a chance; I think it was less than six months.

They weren't on long After Mancow left Rock 1035, the rating took a sharp drop that the station changed formats. Mancows' listeners went to Q101 (the station he poked fun of prior to going to Q101) when he changed stations. Unless Mancow can find another station to carry his morning show, I doubt he'll back on in Chicago since his contract wasn't renewed with Q101 & was recently fired from WLS. As for Bob & Tom; their show is mostly on small market stations. WXRD & WRXQ are the closest stations to Chicago that anyone can listen to their show.
